Hi all,
Recently my surface charger has given up completely, while the laptop itself remains in good condition. I have now taken it back to JBHIFI to seek a replacement, they have informed me that it will need to be sent back to be repaired. In the meantime I will not be able to use my laptop without a charger. What are my rights here?

The right to wait patiently for it to be repaired.
JB would replace if it was new and didn't work, in this case it sounds like the product is older than that? They will arrange for its repair under warranty and you will be inconvenienced. Blame the manufacturer for the fault, not the retailer.
