We've seen this deal before back in October when Optus had trouble moving the stock. Shortly, it went up to $49/mo and later $79/mo. Well Optus has decided from the price testing that $29 is a suitable plan for a device that has not won much acclaim. However, it is still a Sony, and has a pretty good camera.
Combined with first 2 months free, it costs a whopping $638 after 24 months. This deal beats the $49/mo offer on Vodafone. Caveat: 200Mb per month of data isn't much to crow over.
Sony is not known to keep the Android up to date, but Sony has updated it to 2.1 (was 1.6) - I'm not sure if the Optus phone has been updated or not. http://www.cnet.com/8301-19736_1-20021222-251.html
As for Sony's legendary unresponsiveness to user demands - it looks like things are changing. X10 is getting multitouch. http://www.xperiax10.net/2010/11/17/official-xperia-x10-will…
Is this a better phone than the LG Optimus One?
