Coles - 585g Bag Lindor Ltd Ed $2.50, 216g Ferrero Golden Gallery 50c, 700g Tin Cadbury Favourites $3, 125g Box Belgian Chocs 5c

640

Purchased at Greenhills NSW this morning, my wife insisted I post this because different branches decide their own timing for clearing out the Christmas chocolate.

There were also 300g bags of Lindor Limited Edition, including Dark Chocolate, for the same price $2.50 but I got all 5 of the 585g bags. As for the 125g boxes of Coles Belgian chocolates - there were only 2 - it is only fair I can now claim the World Record for cheap chocolate.

Ferrero Golden Gallery 216g now 50c

How dare you! You could have earned 24 flybuys points on this shop.

I'm teaching their computer we don't spend much so we get more offers like our last one - spend $60pw for 4 weeks to get 10,000 points.

      • +5

@PJC: We do the exact same thing :-). We normally go about 2 weeks of spending very little, then get the spend $50 for 4 weeks and get $50 credit to spend. When we do our bulk weekly shopping with them instead of IGA and Woolies, they then appear to stop giving us these offers (So you could say that have been teaching us not to spend with them, so that we get better deals). You are not alone PJC :-)

      • +1

You can normally phone up and get the flybuys added. Save your dockets, wait until you get the offer you want, phone and get your other points added. Might work, might not, but maybe worth a try.

        • +6

Ding ding. Congratulations, you have leveled up!

You are now at Ozb Cheapo Rank II.

          @sky blu:
HaHa! I don't do it, just didn't want you guys missing out on valuable points.

        • +4

Another tip is NOT to scan your flybuys card when you get the 4-week 10000 pts offer, remember to activate it though. Save the receipt first. Preferably do this shop on the last day of qualifying period 1.
Now after the first week has passed, flybuys realised that you are not interested in the 4 wk offer, they will frequently give you another offer, usually a 2-week 4000 pts. Activate it too. Wait patiently as this offer can come in the middle/late part of period 2.
Now add your 1st shop receipt and you can take advantage of both "big" offers for the same 4 wk spending.
Combined with dockets/mail coupons sometimes you can get up to 50% back during the 4 wks.

@sky blu: he's no scab, breaks the 15 cent Aldi bags for refunds lol

      • +1

Get a second card in another name and don't link.

      • And it worked. Yesterday they offered me that same deal again.

    • +2

But at least there are coupons for cheap-ish grog.

    • +2

Shame. Could’ve bought this points off you

          Disgraceful, it's disgraceful.

Your shop window is empty, you put everything on the banner out on the pathway.
Your 'edit' button is between 'view' and 'revisions'.

    • +4

I was wondering where that button was. There are no direct links for these specific products on the Coles website.

      • +7

That's fine, I see you have now invested 3 minutes adding some items to the description with prices to maximise Members' interest.

        • +2

3 minutes on OzBargain. I knew I could do it if I tried hard enough.

        Now I'm jealous again.

  • Tin favourites are $7.50 at my local coles :(

    • They were that price earlier this morning at Coles Kurri Kurri NSW. There were over 200 tins. When I got to Greenhills NSW they had started marking them at $3 and they started to blow out. I only bought 2 because of the Lindt and Ferrero and Belgian chocolates.

      • +1

        Might check tonight.thanks mate.

        • Let us know the outcome. There were also 200g boxes of Lindor for $2.50 and 75g bags of individually wrapped chocolate balls (probably) for 5c. Also 200g (I think) packs of Ferrero Raffaello for $1 which I suppose you know is not chocolate.

        • +1

@PJC: still $7.50 for the favourites tin. Lindt is still $9.

Maybe will drop overnight with the new lot of specials

        • @konji: Fair enough. Did you scan one? Which branch?

        • +1

@PJC: scanned at Green Point NSW

          will try again tomorrow :)

        • @konji: Sooner or later, they'll get round to it.

What happened to being stern… 🤗

I think you've never been married.

      • +1

That's just an in-joke. I know what he means.

    • +5

That would not be wise. Besides, she's brilliant.

      • +3

So it was your wife all along 😂

    • +1

      She's a keeper.

      • +1

        Absolutely!

No pannetonnes marked down yet PJC ?I thought of you eating them during tour de france last year !

    • +3

My store has 1kg pannetonnes at $10. Might grab one tomorrow if they are still left.

      • +2

ALDI have some good ones for $10 but I'm waiting for a better price.

    • +5

We like to see panettones, panettones are bargains.

Ozbargain is like a cake shop window, he should invest some time and add 20 to 30+ panettone bargains.

His "edit" button is between "view" and "revisions".

      • +7

There are none left in my local Coles branches. We have done this dance before.

        • +7

Negging because found some panettones on Aliexpress.

    • +4

I finished them mid-September. My local Coles branches learnt from their mistakes and stocked far fewer this year. There were a few last week reduced from $8 to $4 but I prefer 75% off.

  • +1

I think I’ll be giving that crap a miss for another 11 months and 20-something days.

  • +1

Did you notice any Hot Cross Buns?

    • I saw some in Woolworths that were reduced. Yet their PR department say they stock early due to customer demand.

    • +1

Out in abundance at Coles World Square today - was surprised how early they are!

      The reductions above aren't though.

    • Scabs Buns are really Hot.

  • +2

Holy cow that is cheap! Wish my coles would do the same, they still run their Cadbury 100gr christmas tree chocolate for $1 for the last 6 days so I’m still waiting haha :)
Nowhere near that price you mentioned for Lindt chocolate though :(

    • +2

I'd buy you chocolate and sweets, Hedgehog Girl.

      • +2

She's my friend, I saw her first.

        • +2

You would need to buy me a lot of chocolate :) are you sure you are ready for that commitment?
          *drooling :)

        • +1

@Hedgehog girl: Yes lots and lots of chocolate, and I saw you first!

  • +3

Coles near to me hasn't reduced any of these yet.

    • +4

Thanks for letting us know. I won't go to the Coles near you now.

      • +2

At Coles Warwick (WA) this morning, the 700g Cadbury Favourites tins are $5, so not as good as the OP's post, but they also have 310g Cadbury Scorched Almonds for $2 (about 30-40 jars left at 9am).

    • Did you scan them just in case? They may come down again later.

      • +1

        Yes, I did - they're still scanning at $5.

  • +1

At Coles East Village the 700g Cadbury Favourites tins are $7.5; at Pyrmont they are $5. Both locations have a number of boxes left.
