Hi all,
Looking for some advice / best deal out there for fixed wireless NBN 50/20 - unlimited or 1TB per month.
I don’t care if I need to sign up for 24months
Monthly fee and reliability are important to me :)
Thoughts ?

Thank you.
I'm on 100/40 with MyRepublic. Test at 6:30PM (half peak) is 43/21mbps. Apparently i'm 45% faster than the ISP average according to tesymy.net
On the other hand, dropouts are few and far between. Except for that one time I was without net for weeks! Just one time though
Cheap though.
I've herd good things about Aussie broadband. My friend in Newcastle gets over 90 consistently during dinner time peak. Maybe he is just lucky, but at least he doesn't need to wait an hour (not even joking) for phone support.
We are talking about fixed wireless here, MR don't have 100/40 for FW.
Just commenting on reliability here.
Not yet but ive read that FW is going from 50 to 100.
@Wakety-Wack: that's exciting, unfortunately for me TPG only offer 25Mbps. good to read your positive review about Tangerine, that sounds really good.
Thank you!
Yes I was also with TPG when the FW nbn went up in my area. They offered me 25Mbps but after a bit of looking around found that Tangerine had 50Mbps, so i paid the exit fee and ran, it was well worth the 46Mbps i get now, but im looking forward to the 100Mbps rolling out!
@Wakety-Wack: thank you. even with my 25Mbps i am happy with the nbn, still better than a lot of areas in Syndey
@Savas:
I cant fault that! ;)
Savas, how sure are you about TPG and no congestion?
maybe a bit of congestion? but as i said only 25/5 and as a farm 10km out of town i am happy.
Reliability would depend quite a bit on the quality of the signal you can get from the tower. Line-of-sight to the tower is quite important in fixed wireless (uses higher frequency, less penetration), and also the distance.
I am in a NBN fixed wireless area, but my signal test failed and can't get it installed.
Thanks
Hello,
As you are unable to get connected can you remain with adsl and your phone line?
Am interested as we are in a rural area with lots of trees and think we may be the same as you
Yes, you can stay on ADSL. Existing copper phone line won't be turned off in NBN fixed wireless areas. However we changed to mobile broadband, since our ADSL quality was terrible anyways. We are semirural.
Thanks our adsl is ok and as we looking to move in the next 12 months, we'll stay as we are
Dodo have a 50/20
Anyone have any experience?
We're on Telecube, no problems with Telecube but like most people our tower seems oversubscribed so when school is out and people get home from work the speed get's really bad. The first 12 months that we had the connection the speeds were fine. Anyway, ask around your neighbours and see how they are going. Our neighbour is on the same tower with a different RSP and has the same slowdown problems.
Great point thank you.
how's your research going? i am even tempted to try MyRepublic
End up with dodo , 50/20 unlimited No connection Fee , No modem cost , 24 Month contact. $79 per month. With the 4th month free.
oh wow!! that's a risk, i hope it all goes well. i was also curious if Buzz Telco are any good.
Hope it goes well!
Im with TangerineTelecom on 50/20 and speeds and tech support are very good.
check with other people what speeds, 50/20 is a bit of a gamble. TPG only offer 25/5 but there is no congestion, others like MyRepublic, SkyMesh and AussieBroadband you will probably end up getting slower speeds.
