Another deal on an Apple USB-C Lightning Cable. A much better idea than using a dodgy uncertified cable with your expensive iPhone - especially with all the USB-C cable dramas.

$28.27 w/ OW PM refers to a price match at Officeworks using their 5% price beat policy - if you can find stock.

Description
Connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod’s Lightning connector to your computer’s USB-C port for simple charging and synching.

Key Features
Connects with your iPhone, iPad or Ipod.
Can be used for fast charging with a 12.9 inch iPad Pro.

  • This discount is so rare to come by. Bought mine at full retail price a month ago :(

  • Price match with JB hifi. I'm sure a lot of people purchased those gift cards at 15% off.

    • 1m is too short! I rather 2m, but then again, it cost more.

  • Saw the bargain yesterday. Price matched at Officeworks Windsor, QLD. 3 left in stock.

Damn you apple users pay a premium on cables too

The equivalent USBC to micro USB for older Android phones is like $5. lol

Enough with the fear mongering. You can get good quality cables with the proper certification for less than $10

Don't fall for the genuine nonsense.

I wouldn’t risk a $1900 phone with a cheap cable. Especially with all the known USB-C issues at the moment.

Also, if you’re thinking of buying a USB-C charger, there’s no need to get anything over 29w. I tried this with an Anker 60w, Apple 29w, Apple 61w and Apple 87w and the charging times were pretty much the same. It got from 2% to 95% in around about 45 mins, then seem to trickle charge thereafter. Battery protection mechanism I suspect.

Aftermarket USB-C charger from a reputable brand? Yes. Aftermarket USB-C to lightning cable? I’ll pay the premium just to be safe. That way if something happens, Apple will honour their warranty as you used their cable.

      • My workplace has a bunch of iphones connected to macbooks in the labs. They are definitely not genuine apple cables. I'd be interested to know which brand they are because they are connected 24/7.

El-cheapo droid user with nothing better to do trolling an Apple deal. I know your device is boring.

      • Whose trolling?

My phone was over $1000 too. But I can do everything you can and more. How does it feel to have wireless charging? Can't remember the last time I charged my phone with a cable.

You're not the only one who uses Apple products, kid. I use them at work so that people like you can have bug-free apps.

Thank you very much for squashing those bugs. What's wireless charging when the device needs to be in contact with the charger? Can't remember when you last charged your phone? Did you forget your medication too, old man?

  • Nice, was going to buy some tomorrow. Will price match JB or Officeworks :D

  • thanks. got one. wonder if can fast charge an iphone x

    • +1

If you use a USB-C (preferably one with PD Power Delivery) with 29w or more , it’ll charge the iPhone X at optimal speeds. I’ve noticed that if you charge the iPhone X, it will do the “donk” noise twice (to indicate it's fast charging) and one once if you plug it in after it’s 95% to trickle charge.
