Indeed, I only paid $50 for their Level U Pro and feel ripped by those. So many issues.
for this? http://www.trustedreviews.com/reviews/samsung-level-u-pro
reviewer gave lots of stars there. for $50 still not worth enough? i dont like the design anyway
Problem is when you use them with a Samsung flagship phone. They have major issues.
Are these the first generation headphones? the ones with the poor battery life?
Yeah they are. I would highly recommend the gen 2 2017/2018 model instead.
Don't bother with the first Gen variants of these the battery life is abysmal
191 for gen 2 @warehouse1. Bought gen 1 and sold within week. Gen 2 are awesome.
even gen 2 i guess the battery can last just what, 4 hours nonstop mp3?
5 hours on bluetooth. 7 on mp3 on medium volume
Should really identify these as gen 1 in the title.
OK.. I bought the 1st gen ones.. and here is my review:
Battery life is bad. Very bad. Simply because these buds are ALWAYS on. There is no switch to turn it off.
That's where the charging box comes in. You have to put it into these and it will continuously charge them. Hence also why they don't last in battery because it just does not actually fully shut down. It will "Sleep" inside the box so it is not connected to the phone when that happens, but it is still draining battery when that happens.
Good:
* Sound quality is excellent - on par with my Bose QC20s.
* Fits like a glove in my ears at least and never falls out. I have to literally pull them out they are so comfortably in.
* No NC but it is extremely good at blocking outside noise due to the above and nearing the same quality as the lower end of NC
* Has onboard 4GB of Storage so you can stick songs in there without BT it from the phone
* Onboard Fitness meter. Will measure heart rate and workouts. Combines with Samsung Fit through the Gear App. However, this does reduce battery life.
* Touch control on the buds to adjust volume, stop, next track etc. Though can be a bit sensitive for some's use.
Bad:
* Battery life - fully charged is about 2 hours music if you go via BT from Phone. Slightly longer if you are playing from the onboard memory's music. The Box will give it another 2-3 charges for about 5 hours all up of music. A charge takes about 45-60 min or so.
* Requires the Samsung Gear App to work (can't guarantee to work on other phones)
* 2.4Ghz Interference on BT to the phone is bad for it and you will get drop outs but not as bad as the QCY Q29s (Chatswood and City are extremely bad with people amplifying 2.4Ghz in all directions).
Would I recommend it?
No. Save your money - wait for the Sony 1000's NC buds to drop in price (!LOL!). However, it is my daily Commute driver (outside of my Bose QC20 and QC35s) at the moment since its comfortable and extreme portability. Gets irritating when it drops out because of the interference and stuff - but can't be helped unless you got more power going through buds (unlikely).
I am not sure whether these things were fixed in the second gen.. So don't ask me that.
If you are using it to commute like I do.. charge it every night in the case. Pull them out and put them into the box through the day when not needed and should basically last you the day if you do it this way (it will play @5 hours).
Thank you so much for this review.
Battery life is definitely fixed. Up to 7 hours on gen 2. I love them - don't waste money on the gen 1.
Requires the Samsung Gear App to work (can't guarantee to work on other phones)
The first gen one does work with any phone, you just won't get the fitness features.
The second gen one does too, I use it with my Pixel 2.
You don't even need the app - just press and hold the Bluetooth button on the case and it'll pair like any other Bluetooth earphone.
slow down guys, read the review first. its still 161 worth of your hard earned dough
