Many "free" transaction accounts have strings attached, is there one that is totally free?
ING everyday account comes close but it requires $200 minimum ATM withdraw in order to be free.
Any others?

If you're not already with NAB, are you willing to risk it? It might have been a one-off, but that's for the individual consumer to consider.
CBA online was down for a while.

I think NAB probably has the least strings attached, at the moment…
They did have a system failure last week, but maybe then, it's a good idea to have the ING Orange a/c as backup… costs nothing, diversifies your "risk".
Victoria Teacher's Credit Union offers all of the above. I think 4 free ATM withdrawal from CBA ATMs and 6 free EFT. Unlimited free VISA debit transactions (until you run out of money).
Not sure what the joining requirements are these days, my mum is a teacher so I was referred that way. Also probably not much use if you aren't in Victoria.
