Vodafone Signal - before & after Restart Post-Activation (Full Signal vs None)

I came from Optus where the signal is 1 bar at my place.

Thought to give Vodafone a try with the $2 starter, which surprisingly has full signal when i 1st inserted the sim prior to activation (Emergency call only).

So, I proceeded with the activation and ported my number over successfully, whilst still showing the full signal strength.

Then i went ahead to restart my mobile (heard ppl say need to restart after activation), but now it has zero signal or periodically showing 1 bar then dropped off again.

Any witchcraft behind this ?

    Yep you were likely only getting an "emergency use" telstra tower… only way to be sure is grab a $10 telstra sim heaps of data currently and includes txt etc

    Turn on Wi-Fi Calling if your phone supports it.

    Have a look at the towers near you and the transponders on them

    You might have specific phone/frequency reception issues, but if only tower with some Vodafone kit on it is more than a few kilometres away and with bonus line-of-sight obstruction, that is most likely the problem.
