412 was a typo, it's actually 525 which is also a weird size. I've never known why Crucial use the weird sizes either.
Maybe the usable size is 256, 512, maybe.
The SSD needs to reserve a portion of its total size for itself, some companies advertise the reduced space, some don't, and they reserve less or more depending on the speeds they're targeting.
$175 shipped for the 525GB from Amazon US if you're happy to buy overseas
That's said the 750GB was ~$140 shipped this time last year. So there is room to move on these prices.
That's not bad, i just bought 2x 275GB from RamCity
How much for the MX300 2TB SSD?
$725
Business name doesn't check out
Shopping Express are going to have these drives slightly cheaper, shipping notwithstanding. Plenty of other drives on sale too, haven't thoroughly checked prices.

Still glad I picked up the 750GB version when I did. In day-to-day use I find no noticeable difference between it and my previous 500GB 850 EVO, despite some of the MX300's shortcomings when it gets close to full capacity. High capacity per dollar is the biggest draw, and they're not a bad SATA drive in most other aspects, especially power draw.
Just a general question about ssd. How come some brands are not 128, 256, 512 etc. Like these ones, 275 and 412 seems a strange number to me.
