Can anyone share their experience with purchasing the Xiaomi mi notebook pro? Whether you bought it from gearbest or another chinese store, did you have to deal with customs and import stuff or whether you didn't have to deal with import tax. I'm very keen to pick up this laptop.

Did you speak to the gb rep via ozb or directly on their site?
I initially spoke to the site's live chat and ticket support system. They both said they can't do it. On the other hand, I have been contacting the Gearbest rep here on OzBargain before even buying and said they've done it before. They were not responding quickly (I understand because it was Christmas eve and they would be out) but as soon as I gave them my order number, by the time my order got processed, it immediately showed up on my invoice as 700 USD (I added DHL shipping and insurance so if you convert to AUD via Google, it ended up as 992AUD all in all).
Have you bought the Pro yet? If so, how has it performed so far? I'm currently in the market for a new laptop.
Wish it has numpad though.
Just received my Mi Notebook Pro today, on the process of installing all my stuff after the clean format. Speak to the Gearbest rep with declaring the item below the GST threshold. I ordered mine during Christmas eve, order got processed and sent at Christmas day, received today, a day earlier than estimated. I used DHL Express for the quick delivery and they delivered. I can share the tracking process if you're interested. As for the product, it's amazing.
