Not sure about anyone else, but I'm a fan of Blackhawk for my cats, if you want something better than Whiskas/Friskies, Blackhawk is a decent premium brand cat food that doesn't rip you off like Science Diet.

A 3kg bag brings the price to be $5/kg. BUT there is a better option if you have the Amex cash back saved, I've listed it below.

Better option

If you have the Amex cash back saved ($25 back on $75+ spend), Mypetwarehouse has a 15kg bag for $80.79, after cash back, brings unit price down to $3.72/kg.

Oh and don't forget 4% back on Cashrewards too, should work out to be $3.50/kg.

This is part of Boxing Day Sales for 2017

Grain Free out of stock now.

      • Handy. Can’t Click and Collect as it’s not available online?

  • Who buys in such small quantities? Just wondering because i normally buy 40kg at a time.

    • I only buy 3kgs at a time (occasionally 10kgs if it’s cheap). I think 40kgs would feed my two cats for about 2 years!

And what's wrong with that? The savings is y-uge! Y-uuuge I tell ya. The Y-ugest.

  • How does Blackhawk compare to royal canin? That is our furball's usual kibble.

  • Anyone know how it compares to Nutro Cat?

  • They don't do cashrewards anymore (????) I was told.
Mine seem to prefer the grain feed
Took a little to get use to but we're happy with it…

  • Anyone got any opinions on Canidae Grain Free vs Black Hawk Grain Free?

    • We used to feed our kitties Black Hawk, but found that they started to react to it after a while; they both developed acne, and their poops stunk so bad. After we swapped to Canidae, their acne started to get better, and they seem to require less food. Putting cost and the amount they eat together, I feel like although Canidae seems more expensive sometimes, it actually works out to be about the same. Canidae has a pretty good reputation outside of Australia, so I feel pretty comfortable knowing that they're getting decent food, rather than random "meat byproduct" garbage.

  • I'm guessing these are old formula that they are getting rid of to make way for the new formula, so stock up if you can. After checking out the new ingredients list, I won't be buying any of the new formula
