FYI the hardware is great but the accompanying cycliq plus phone app is terrible. It's very hit and miss pairing your phone with the device and even when successful the app doesn't work much of the time. There's also a new model out now too. Having said that if the app functionality is not a priority it's a great product and $149 is a steal.
I could be missing something, but if i can take the SD card out and playback via a PC if there was an accidental or near miss, what more does the phone app do?
It'll let you review footage through your phone while still out on the road or when you're at the cafe with your cycling buddies.

I think you've confused the Fly 6 price with the Fly 12 price. The Fly 12 is coming up at $179 with the Fly 6 at $149.
Try the code BOX17 brings it down to 149
$400 though.
Often product reviews will highlight what has been improved from the previous model, so I can decide if the price difference is warranted?
New model will always be more expensive, especially close to release date.
The new model looks so much better (and is lighter too) … but yeah, $400.
OP why don't you add the Fly6 as well? The code brings it down to $119.
Checking their site again, need to spend $150 to get the $30 off code (ie need to find something that cost $1 on their website to get the Fly6 down to $120).
Yep, I bought a Fly6 and added a Clif Bar @ $2.50.
I just bought a fly12. Tried to buy a fly6 on a seperate order but the discount didnt work so it looks like you can use the code once only.
