Advice on Claiming TRS for Recently Purchased MacBook Air

Hi OzBargainer's,

On 24/11/2017 I ordered Apple MacBook Air 13.3 [MQD32 2017 Model, 8GB RAM 128GB] from Vaya eBay Shop for $979.29 (unfortunately missed on out additional 1% through CashRewards as supposedly it didn't register from their website).

I had this sent to my parents place in Adelaide, I wasn't sure if I was going to be home to receive it. I have opened the MacBook and am happy with it. When I looked at the Invoice, I wasn't sure if I would be able to claim TRS, as I will be living in the UK for 2 years. The Invoice was a Commercial Invoice, the Receiver address was my parents address, does this need to be my address (i.e. the address on my Passport), the Item (Full Description of Goods) was listed as a Mobile Phone Set (Free Shipping Charges) and the value was $870.

I haven't been in touch with VAYA to see if they can send a correct(ed) Invoice to me, and given this is my first item that I'm wanting to claim TRS, can I currently do this with this Invoice? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have a very Merry Christmas, and enjoy getting all the Boxing Day Sale Bargains!

Vaya = No GST = no TRS

    • Does this mean that I didn't pay GST on this item? I thought all items that were on eBay were required to pay the GST?

        not yet

      • Only those sellers that have ABN and GST registered can provide tax invoice which has GST.

        • Judging by yours and the previous responses, Vaya is not one of those companies that have or pay either. Oh well, looks like I'll just have to go down the line of depreciation. Thanks to all for your assistance.

@savemore: Vaya is from Hong Kong? Those overseas sellers normally not registered for gst.
