Tablet for a 2 Years Old

Hi guys, I am thinking of buying my 2 years old daughter a tablet which she can use for next few years. So, should I buy her a 7/8inch or 10inch tablet? My budget is upto $300. I would appreciate if you recommend something as well.

Have a look at that lengthy discussion John linked you to - your 2 year old really shouldn't be using a tablet and they certainly don't need their own tablet. If you really insist on exposing them to these devices while their brains are wiring it should be in very short doses and with an adult - meaning they can use yours with you.

"meaning they can use yours with you" LOL apprentice is looking for a machine to rear his child for him if you look at his previous 48 post there are 3 deals (that benefit others) and 45 questions maybe he is hoping his daughter can use/read Google for him.

As linked above, I suggest thinking on this a bit longer.
There is a huge difference between handing a 2yro your ipad for 10mins and giving them a device they will come to expect it is always available to them.

Buy her toys more appropriate to her age. Tablets are just another form of babysitting. You should be more involved with your child.

A tablet doesn’t help a child develop strength in their hands.
This is very important for when they go to school. Children can’t learn to write if they don’t even have enough strength to hold a pencil. Teachers are reporting kids are struggling in class for this reason.

Traditional skills like drawing and coloring in with pencils is important for this reason. Tapping and swiping is not good for building strength.

The tablet is great as a treat or motivator though. For a while our daughter didn’t enjoy tooth brushing. So we let her play free games during the brushing process. If she closed her mouth, we took away the tablet.

My daughter is not addicted to screens. She doesn't even like to watch cartoons for more than 30 minutes. It was my idea to get her a tablet. But after reading the discussions from above links I won't buy her a tablet now. Thanks guys.

Good call. Whilst she may not be addicted now, if you’d got her a tablet that would have changed. Speaking from experiences with two daughter myself
