Amazon scared of the ebay launch in Australia.

  • Awesome. Just tried it with my Combank issued Amex and it worked. First time I've ever used it.
Amazon AU have a couple of things I want that are cheaper here than the US site, so thanks for the heads up.

      Such as?

    • Hi Rattle,

Have you received confirmation email after purchase?
I used CBA AMEX too but nothing for me so far….Worried

  • -1

What about those of us that have a Nab Amex? Does that mean we get two lots of 10% off?

    • +1

      Yup, livechat confirmed they stack

  • thanks, now lets hope for some deals

  • -2

wtf does this have so many upvotes, amazon will probably have 10% increase on boxing day!

  • +1

Mine got registered but doesn't show up in offers….

  • +2

Just wondering, don't amazon charge your card when the items are ready to ship. Say if you buy on the 26/12 and they don't ship the goods out until the following week, I presume the amex will get charge on that day so we don't qualify for the 10% since it must be on the 26/12 is how I am reading it?

    • This is a great question. Amex might be getting a few phone calls, I reckon.

  • whats a good deal to buy? can you buy visa prepaid or other gift cards on amazon and still get the amex credits>?

    • I don't think they sell any gift cards.

  • +1

Couldn't find the first 3 things I looked up. Waiting to see if this'll stack well with deals that 'hopefully' come up.

  • Any thoughts on buying Amazon coins (which is like gift cards). $385 will buy 50000 coins, which is the equivalent to $500. Combining this to the 10% cashback from Amex is pretty good it seems.

    • +2

Sounds good in theory, but they can't be used to purchase physical items, only digital items such as apps and in-app purchases. This rules out most of the cool things you can get on Amazon!

  • Um When are Amazon.com.au going to release Boxing day deals?
    00:01?

    • Yes correct (AEDT)

  • Live but bugger if I can find a deal?

  • Switch for $341. https://www.amazon.com.au/Nintendo-Switch-Neon-Blue-Joy/dp/B…

$379*.9=$341.1. Beats having to share $50 with others using the HN amex deal.

  • Just bought the Nintendo Switch , but no Amex email yet. Normally get an email shortly after a purchase . Anyone get an Amex confirmation of cashback?

  • But what to buy? Do they even have enough good stuff up there?

  • +4

How many times can we use this deal, just for one amazon transaction?

  • +1

Just bought breath of the wild on Amazon for $59 with current deal.

Got email instantly. However it reads

If your transaction meets the offer terms, your $0.10 credit should appear on your statement within 5 business days (however it can take up to 90 days from the offer end date).

Hopefully I'm getting more than 10 cents credited!

    • I got this email too and mine also says $0.10. i paid $536.00 total and got Switch Console, Mario Kart, Zelda ROTW and Super Mario Odyssey.

I should technically get back $53.60 as credit?

Sounds like the 10% has triggered on the automatic $1 pre auth check that Amazon is doing on new credit cards…

    • I’m tipping they meant to write 10% but instead accidentally wrote $0.10

    • Maybe they’ve only charged you a $1 authorisation to ‘test’ the card, or they might have charged you that first and that triggered the email?

    • Thank you for using Amex Offers with your Card ending in xxxxxx at AMAZON.
If your transaction meets the offer terms, your $37.50 credit should appear on your statement within 5 business days (however it can take up to 90 days from the offer end date).
For more details, see the Offer Terms below

      ps4 pro

If your transaction meets the offer terms, your $5.90 credit should appear on your statement within 5 business days (however it can take up to 90 days from the offer end date).

      • Has the money actually been taken from your card? If not and your expected cashback figures are correct then I feel more confident that it's just an auto generated email.

    • I’ve also got the same issue. Amex Aus is closed today so I couldn’t talk to them

  • I think we are going to have a problem with this as amazon do not charge until shipped.

  • Can be used with one purchase or multiple?

  • +5

For anyone concerned with the cashback due to the credit card charges only being processed when shipped, here is the response I got from customer service:

    Hello

I am happy that you contacted Amazon. I see that you have some inquiries regarding payment method and about the cash back offers.

I appreciate that you already have researched greatly from your end. Thank you for letting me seeing into this.

I would be more than happy to assist you.

As you researched, Yes! We do charge your card after your order is shipped. Once your order is shipped only then your bank will release the authorization for the amount of order which was placed .

About the 10% cash back, the 10% cash back offer would be added to your order once the order is shipped and the payment is authorized. However it won't affect your offer as the order was placed during the sale so your offer won't any kind of discrepancy.

I hope this information helps, We look forward to hearing from you. Wish you a Happy New Year and a great rest of the day.

    Kind regards,
    Avinash K

    Comments:Hi,

I purchased this item today using my AMEX card which I had previously registered using the cashback offer applicable for boxing day https://offerenroll.americanexpress.com/enroll/EnrollmentSit….

However, I have read that Amazon do not charge the credit card until the order is shipped.

My question is, will this cause an issue regarding the '10% cashback' since the payment will not process until after 26/12/17.

Could you please clarify this for me?
    • +2

Thanks for sharing! I can rest easy now

    • +2

Your comments is funny… then to answer it, you should have apply for it, instead of complaining… Bargaining not only comes with luck, but it comes with a small effort to gain it

  • Woo 0.10c cash back.. this is not going to end well.

  • does the 10% cashback apply to third party sellers as well?

  • Any deals??

    • At well over 600 votes, there must be… right? 🤔

Live chat have confirmed that NAB Amex cards DO stack, meaning you get a 20% discount

    Sadu: Thank you.
    Thank you for staying connected.
I have checked this for you.
Customer who have a NAB issued Amex card would receive 20% off, provided that they enrolled in the Amex offer.
If you are having an NAB American express card then you can be one of the few luckiest persons to some extent to have 20% discount.

    • Wow I hope this is true!

    • you can be one of the few luckiest persons to some extent

Goodness, I love the grammar on this one

  • -2

Looks a bit suspect to me.
Select language drop down only offers English
Not on my Amex app as an offer nor on the website either.
Why do they need your email address as Amex already have that from your membership.
    Be aware here..

  • +2

Sorry if this has been answered but can you do multiple transactions on the one amex card?

    • +1

Online chat seemed to say multiple transactions are eligible. I hope it works. The terms seem a bit vague on this.

Update: Got 2nd Amex email for 2nd transaction so seems to be working.

  • Can same card be used multiple time? Does not say one use per card??

  • +3

Even at 20 per cent off with the 2 Amex and NAB credit cards I still can’t find anything worth buying. What a damp squib.

  • +2

So no ones posted any decent deals but this has huge upvotes. Are these corporate shills or is there bunch of amazon bots upvoting? What’s going on?

    • Bought Nintendo switch games using this, great deal

  • I registered my NAB Amex for this offer. Checked my NAB statement and one 10% credit came through on 2 Jan. Not sure if it's the Amex offer or the NAB cardholder offer. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the other 10%!
