So I came home today to a couple of packages. I'm expecting probably 10+ items over the next few weeks from Gearbest, so this wasn't a surprise.
What was a surprise was that one of the packages addressed to me wasn't for me. It included a phone and other items, none of which I'd ordered. I noticed that there was another label with a separate interstate addressee - let's call him Bill - and Bill's contact number. I called Bill and this was definitely his parcel.
It got more interesting when Bill indicated that he'd also received a Gearbest package that he hadn't ordered. However, it wasn't my package, it had another label with 'Greg's' name and address on it. So either Greg has my package, or there's a a fourth party (Dave?) out there who has received one of my packages.
I went to AusPost and returned the package (they wouldn't send it to Bill).
So either Gearbest's local office has really screwed up by applying the wrong labels to a bunch of packages, or they're doing a big secret santa gift swap. I'd love to know just how many customers have been affected by this mixup.
hahaha this is why I hate secret santa
