Hi All!
I am looking for software which can backup and restore only the messages and call history to my new device. When I got my new iPhone I set up from new completely forgetting about the messages.
So far the only program I found to work ok is skysoft data backup (free trial) however for the full version which allows backup/restore, they are asking for $50.
Any other free/cheaper options out there?
Probably some lame apple design feature prevents you from doing this.
Is it worth factory resetting new phone, connecting to iTunes and trying a restore backup from previous phone
I would however I have used my new phone for a while now and don't want to lose the new messages

The easiest way will be to do an iTunes backup of your old phone and restore from this backup. Not many other legit options out there. Do you really need your message and call history anyway? After a few days you won't miss it anymore.
I'd be surprised if it were possible to merge call and message history with another backup, surely one would overwrite the other and you'd have to choose which one to keep? Are you sure the skysoft software can do that?
Can it be done through iTunes? Or an app?
I know this isn’t the answer, but I know that there are apps that will move all your old messages to your new phone on Android, was thinking it may be the same on iOS…
