  Giving them as a gift maybe makes sense but I would not recommend them… Received once as a gift and the guys at the restaurant had troubles with the system. It was eventually put through but all these gimmick for dining out is really unnecessary… I would recommend giving prepaid gift cards. Brings more flexibility.
