Philips HC7450 Hairclippers $74, or $54 after $20 Cashback @ Harvey Norman

50

I was looking to replace my old Philips hair clippers. I found these for $74 at Harvey Norman, with Philips doing a $20 cashback until 24 December.

Free pickup in store, or $5.95 shipping to many locations.

It looks like Catch.com has them for $77, eligible for cashback too if that's your thing.

Have the same pair. Used it for a year and has no signs of wear. Albeit I use it about once a month.

    Great for the price point.

    • I'm onto my third pair of Philips clippers. The only thing that dies eventually on me is the battery. I tend to use them once a week though.

They're much quieter too than the other big, heavy one from competitors. Having said that, they don't cut as quickly as heavier Wahl-type ones, so you don't want to speed through your hair or you might regret it.

    • Are these any good to cut kids hair once a month.

      • Honestly, I use these on my chest and general grooming. I would assume from my usage that these should be fine on childrens hair. That being said, my opinion is not very informed on the matter. For instance, u/kumquat below has indicated otherwise.

if they are good enough for this guys balls they are good enough for a kids head

      • I've been using different Philips hair clippers for years. My last pair died (the battery is dead) and so I borrowed a pair of the heavy barber-shop style ones. Those were much louder, but also cut much more quickly than my Philips ones. I didn't have to deliberately go slower so as not to pull on the hair - these other ones cut quickly through the thick hair despite the speed.

So it's a trade-off, the Philips are quiet and light, but slightly slower.

      • I've been using this for my 5 year old, its ideal since its cordless, relatively silent most importantly low vibration

  • Didn't like these Philips clippers at all. Didn't cut very quick, hair always got stuck. Gave mine to my dad and went back to the Philips QC rotating series

  • Sounds like a perfect chance to use the $50 gift card from HN's early Google Home deal.

  • How does the HN cashback work?

  • these are pretty good. sharp and close
