XPEL Ultimate PPF:
Constructed from a combination of advanced elastomeric polymers, XPEL ULTIMATE’s special clear coat not only prevents the film from discoloring due to contamination and ultra-violet radiation, but also heals itself from swirl marks and light scratches that can occur through ordinary washing and drying or daily driving.

The enhanced work ability of XPEL’s adhesive allows the film to be contoured around the most complex surfaces without distortion—which means you show off a perfect finish, not seams, wrinkles, and ripples. XPEL ULTIMATE also comes with a full 10-year warranty against yellowing, discoloration, peeling, cracking and hazing.

XPEL Stealth PPF:
Built with the same elite self-healing and protective features as XPEL ULTIMATE film, XPEL STEALTH comes in a satin finish that preserves matte paint in its showroom condition. Matte finishes are notoriously difficult to maintain and even harder to repair—even something as simple as touching up a rock chip. XPEL STEALTH not only prevents damage from road debris and bug acids but enables you to easily wash and dry your car without fear of changing the luster of the finish.

Looking for a reversible way to change your car’s appearance—and protect it at the same time? XPEL STEALTH can transform glossy paint into a sleek satin finish, for thousands less than a custom paint shop would charge for a high-end matte finish.

  • Jeez that's expensive. Any third party testing or reviews?

    • Unfortunately that's how it is. Paint protection film involves expensive film materials, extensive labor and experienced installer. XPEL is the No.1 brand of PPF industry. Lots of reviews online https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2lVxmrwb_E
It's worth it if you care the presentation of your car or take it to the track for example.

    • Larry from AMMONYC / Drive strongly recommends it and seems to have a Porsche fully wrapped in the stuff. He has great videos on both youtube channels explaining how great the stuff is. I've been tossing it up for a while now, this might get me to actually book in an appointment.

If Larry recommends it, then that's good enough for me.

    • Wait till you get quoted 6k to wrap the whole car.

      • I think going for the full car would be a bit overkill in the majority of applications. However the front bar and fenders sound like a reasonable price for a paint protection that lasts 10 years.

Bought a car on the weekend. After buying was passed onto the aftersales guy at the dealership. His opening question: How long to do you intend to keep the car (as he reaches for his glossy paint protection brochure). My answer 3 years until the lease runs out then i will flip it for a new one! Took the wind right out of his sails (and his sales). Errrrrrmmm would you like your car looking brand new when you have to sell it in 3 years time? my answer, maybe but I'm not sure $2K on product now will deliver me an extra $2K in return in 3 years time, how well I haggle and whether a new model comes out in the meantime will probably have more impact than paint protection. I understand somebody with their classic pride and joy dream car wanting to baby the thing but surely modern paint is good enough to last 3-4 years without spending an extra $2K.

      Larry recommends it.

    • If you're leasing and intend to flip to a new one at the end of lease then it might not for you. For many car enthusiasts there is no respray job can match factory paint's finish. When it comes to resale YES the paint protection film do increase the resale value as it retains the undamaged new factory paint underneath it.

      • Manufacturers paint their cars to protect the metal body. Then Prime Finish Car Care wraps the car in $6000 worth of plastic film to protect the paint. I think a layer of inexpensive aluminium foil is now necessary to protect the expensive plastic film from damage, so that you can remove the alfoil and present an undamaged new body wrap at resale time.

Of course the alfoil is very glary, so you will need to paint the alfoil to stop the light reflecting off it. And then you will need to wrap it up in Glad Wrap to protect the fragile paint on alfoil from damage.

Now to prevent damage to the Glad Wrap, you should put vinyl cladding all around the car…

        • I don't think Larry would agree with you.
