    • They've done this before but beware

"specially marked Original HP Toner Cartridges* "

      there is a catch…

it's not easy trying find "specially marked" packs…

      • -5

Actually if you buy from real genuine australian retailers who don't grey import(just because they say they do doesn't mean it's true) it's pretty easy to find those packs and I can guarantee you that our Q600x's are indeed "specially Marked"

Also not everyone lives in melbourne or has access to an officeworks(ie people in rural areas) so our deal is a very good deal even though it may not suit you personally.

You really do love your negative votes don't you.

        • +4

Biting the hand that feeds is never a good idea.

jv merely pointed out an alternative supplier that was able to beat the price advertised, hence his negative vote was valid.

Maybe you should adjust the price then come back with your bargain?

        • +2

Couldn't find ANY specially marked ones at Officeworks last time (maybe they have some now?), I don't think Officeworks are grey importers… (happy to verify with the local store manager though about your accusations…)

Road Mogul may have specially marked ones too for all I know… I've never bought toners from them, but have purchased other items from them before…

"You really do love your negative votes don’t you."

Yes, i like to vote negative when I know there is a better deal that most people can be pointed to…

$51 cheaper is certainly worth pointing out to Ozbargainers…

  • Officeworks get their HP directly from HP Australia who use Ingram Micro for their warehousing and distribution. I never made any accusations about them. The majority of online retailers in australia buy from a wholesaler that grey imports all of their HP and that is what I was referring to.

Again all of our HP toners that qualify under the promotion ARE specially marked. I can't speak for other retailers.

ryang you are indeed correct about biting the hand that feeds you. That saying goes both ways. I have seen other posters on here saying that if you don't support the small retailers giving you good deals and just take the offer to officeworks there is nothing to intice them to offer the deals in the first place and all you will be left with is recommended retail pricing at the end of the day.

I made the offer of what is a great deal. After the frosty reception I can't say I would feel comfortable posting another. At least not here so now all Ozbargainers will likely miss out.

      My first post says…

"I can get them for $379 from Officeworks…"

based on that, your offer is $51 more…

if you don't want to post another, that's up to you… Nobody here is going to force you to… It's voluntary…

(The reason why i posted it, is that i have a HP 2600n laser and buy exactly these toners from Officeworks at the price i have quoted…)

Hey, I'm with jv - not a deal, because not cheapest.

I too have the HP2600dtn laser, and I too price match Officeworks to Road Mogul. The bundle you're selling is exactly what I bought last time. At the time, it cost me $383.

Would I use your deal if it was the same price as the road mogul prices (i.e. $399)?

Probably; I'd pay the extra $20 (which you could use to cover your postage costs) for the convenience of buying quickly, and not waiting for the officeworks price match. Slug me with a "must sign up" ecommerce site (I haven't looked) or a CC surcharge (again, I haven't looked), and no.

    Gotta be a bargain :)

P.S. I've also bought from Road Mogul, and yep, they're genuine.

so what's the lesson we learned today, kids?

Well - I'd start with the perception of what is a deal for some may not be for others!

To the original poster - please do not be discouraged from posting here - the majority of us are pleasant, appreciating tightarses (me included!)

I think this is a good deal, and am glad it was posted. I DO think that "small" retailers should be rewarded and supported when they post a good deal here.

SO thanks "originalcartridges" - and please post again!

And when a good deal is posted, it is rewarded. As pointed out, this isn't a good deal. The price is cheaper at Road Mogul. A quick price check around the usual locations would've revealed this before it was posted by the rep.

        @shmahoo

Hey, if you reckon paying over $50 more than you need to for the same product is a good deal… Go for it… :P
