Electricians, are these switches AUS compliant?? I get that they need to be pro installed, but can they be without the house burning down and my insurance company just laughing at me.

I installed one at my place. bit of house bog to fill the hole a bit and it looks and works great
like works seamlessly?
Sure does. Does all that is advertised.
Fixing the wall hole was the hard part, splash of paint, and these worked flawlessly!

Yep no certification for use in aus, doesn't mean they're bad… just means you could VOID your insurance if they cause the fire for example.
I so wish they had 'Australian' approval!
I think a lot of us got appliances that are not Aus certified. Yeelight, Xiaomi Smart products and etc. I think as long as it’s reputable, it will be fine.
Hey guys, I 100% agree that personally importing and using overseas consumer products is perfectly legal and will not void your insurance.
However this is fixed electrical wiring/equipment, the regulations are SOLID and enforceable by law. You are not meant to be DIY'ing this, no electrician would/should install non compliant equipment as they risk their lively hood by signing that Certificate of Compliance!
What's the process for getting electronics certified? These would sell like hot cakes if anyone imported a shipping container load.
Totally agree. I’d install about 15 tomorrow. Well an electrician would.
probably not, aside from having no AU certification, a normal AU wall switch is rectangular, the Xiaomi switch is square like Europe.
