Last Minute Where in NSW Affordable for Family Christmas

Family with Granny sick husband young single son in early 20's and two young teenagers and MUM.. we do not gave other family close by.. I am struggling to find some Christmas cheer and am wondering about maybe a few nights away.. btwn Christmas day and 29/12.. within 4 hours of Sydney would be best as (I) work weekends so need to be home for that. Budget is not huge… so any suggestions welcomed ☺
Sorry it was so confusing….. Nan is 91 years… hubby is slowly recovering from Cancer.. son 23 years.. and 2 younger teenagers. I am mum and work weekends so was 'thinking' maybe we could spend a couple of days away between 25/12 - 29/12 somewhere within 4 hours of Sydney ☺

That was difficult to read…. but I think I got it.

At this stage your options are either terrible or expensive.

You could try your luck on Air BnB up and down the coast.

I personally would recommend dropping this money in some good camping gear, treat it as an investment into the future.

    • I am sorry it was hard to read.. I have sorta tried to simplify it by adding more. ☺

Are there no other ways you can use the money to have a good stay-at-home Christmas?
Get some great food delivered so you can all spend time together instead of cooking?
Buy an inflatable pool and chill out in the backyard?

Not sure of your family or their interests, but it might prove easier to find some great at-home things.

There are tons of people who are feeling exhausted in December and are all right now feeling the same desire to get out of town last minute. I really don’t think you’ll find any bargains on a place to stay. You’ll also be stuck in holiday traffic on those days so within 4 hours of Sydney is not going to get you very far away. You’re not very clear if the sick person and grandparent are going on the holiday or not but sounds like they are going to add to the problem of finding appropriate accommodation (are they able to go camping?)

This sounds like good advice. Also maybe do some Sydney day trips, like a day at the beach, a day at darling Harbour, a day at the Blue Mountains etc.

      • Yes excellent advice.. but no camping is not really an option 😕

Unless you are camping it is just too expensive to go anywhere at this time of year. I agree with the above, find a way to have some fun at home and do a few day trips to interesting places.
