Just wondering if you can recommend any place to get a cheap LCD or LED 40" or 42" TV for any of these brand, Sony, Samsung, sharp. I am in Sydney…

what is Kogan brand like?
I know it prob won't hold up to the big brands, but they have:46" Full HD LED (Samsung Panel) for $899
Maybe someone with experience with Kogan can advise if they are good
Take a look at Videopro.com.au. I bought a Sony 40Inch LED 50Hz for $997. Does the job.

Just wait IMO the dollar is still strong and after christmas they should be happy to negotiate down alot more. I know I am waiting for a particular store close to me to close down so I can grab a newish 3d tv (hopefully 40-46inch) for under $1200. So I would wait and have a look at the offers that samsung and sony have atm.

I shouldn't really be saying this but a friend told me their store is closing down at the end of the year. I can already get cost price, but they said that if I wait until they are about to shut down, then I could pick up a 1-2 week old 3d tv (I think a series 7 samsung) for 10-15% below cost. I haven't got the full details yet but as I said wait, there will be really cheap stuff after christmas. If interest rates go up aswell we most likely will see them get cheaper again.
Also it will be best if you don't care about plasma,lcd or led backlighting as the price difference really doesn't justify the difference in quality.
what do u mean by 1-2 week old 3D TV, pls tell me when they are closing down, I am very bad…can I pay by credit card?
Well I will be purchasing a newish demo because that is where they can go below. I am not too sure when they are closing down as I haven't been told yet. It's a bing lee store so yeh credit card should be fine.

I saw a plasma at Cash Converters yesterday, could probably also get a rear projection of the same size for a bit cheaper.
I am think about the deal for LG, buy selected model LCD can get a free 22" LCD TV…
I saw a hot deal from Dick smith last 2 week, 7xx for 40" sony LCD, but it's gone…:(
