Consigment Stores or Shops That Buy Second Hand Items

I'm not asking about eBay or auction sites cos I really don't have the time. But I have lots of clothes, accessories etc some branded n barely worn so before I donate to salvos etc I'd like to sell those I can like fleur wood and alannah hill items I've worn once or twice. Mens and womens clothes.
I have come across thewardobe store, the great mistake and shop suburbia on the internet but don't know anyone who has used them. Anyone have experiences or shops to go to or avoid?
In Nsw! Would appreciate any info

Anyway, heres some places I've found: I hope this is an appropriate place for this thread-after all that bargain hunting, gotta sell down to free up some cash!

For Gold (ie old jewellery or anything gold broken etc),
www.goldcompany.com.au : in sydney city and bondi, easy and quick to go in store, i've sold to them with no problems (may not be best price but hassle free)
www.cashforgoldaustralia.com.au : in melbourne, prices are listed and look better than the sydney companies I spoke to but i was hesistant to do the mail thing
apparently saffo jewellery in castlereagh st, sydney also buy gold
there is another company in north sydney but I can't find my reference.

I think these are prob going to give you better value than those shopping centre stands.

Clothes: (can buy designer items at discount or onsell some of yours)
www.thewardrobestore.com : located in sydney, has online ads about $5 to list, yet to sell anything through them, women's designer clothes/accessories
www.thegreatmistake.com.au : located Chatswood, not been before, womens only
www.shopsuburbia.com : located in NSW beacon hill, again never been, apparently mens and womens, gives you higher percentage for consignment but all depends if it sells!
apparently whole bunch in darlinghurst, surrey hills area: blue spinach, pelle all selling womens high end designer items

  • I sold all my old gold to these guys who also have their prices listed on the website

    www.cashforoldgold.com.au
