Best Backup App for Xiaomi Phone

So from bits and pieces I've picked up from OzB comments about Xiaomi phones, it seems like much of our info is being sent to China via Xiaomi phones. I don't know how bad that is, but identity theft does concern me, and trying to contain the possibility of it seems like a good idea to me. It sounds like its probably not a good idea to use Xiaomi's built-in Miui apps.

Any idea of the best non-Xiaomi backup app? (that won't steal my info), if is there is such an app. I want to restore my phone as seamlessly as possible.

I already looked on Google Play however, I'd like your advice on this.

What backup apps do people use.

EDIT: phone isn't flashed and Im not confident to do it, so am looking for a non-root app.

    Flash it with LineageOS/your preferred ROM and use titanium backup.

      I noticed the Titanum app on Google Play seemed good.
      I should have mentioned that
      I'm not confident in flashing. Haven't done that before.

        Just not using their apps is unlikely to stop them spying on you if they are doing it - hell, if they are actually intent on it flashing a non-Chinese ROM may not even stop them as their kernel could have spying functionality baked in. Flashing a community-made ROM onto your phone is about the only way you can be reasonably comfortable your information isn't being piped straight to a server in Beijing though, and isn't at all difficult if you can follow tutorials.

          Thank you. I appreciate it, and one day, will try it, but not this month.
          I liken it this way..
          I don't want to fly a jet without taking a couple of lessons first (on a phone that doesn't matter if I brick it).

          I'm not a technophobe, I'm actually the most tech-savvy oldie in my group of women friends.. Just not ready for flashing phones yet), so until I gain confidence to do this, I need recommendations for a good non-root app for backup that others have found useful, so I can restore my phone.

    So not one OzBargainer has a suggestion for a non-rooted backup app for Xiaomi 4X… really?
