  • interface not as good as my built in alarm. No widget support.

I will test how soothing it is tomorrow, but in terms of UI, nothing beats the built in alarm, which I can give each alarm a name to.

My work roster alternates from week to week, so I like being able to name each alarm based on what week it is, and putting them as widgets on home screen, so I can easily toggle them on and off according to the week it is.

With this I have to expand the alarm just to see which days it is for, and that takes up a lot of screen space so I will have a huge amount of alarms to sort through and manage. Seems I can't customize the snoozing on this one either. With my default alarm, I can set a different tone depending on the day, number of snoozes, how long each snooze is for. This matters because I use the alarm tone to let me know whether I absolutely must get up now, or if I can afford a snooze and how many. The harsh sounding one says, GTFU NAO. The more relaxed 'lullabye' one says I can snooze a bit more. Also, it can read out the time to me.

I'll check out the 'zen music' to see if it actually helps. If not, I'll go back to my built in alarm. But it does seem like the customizability is not there.

    • UPDATE: There is no snooze button. How lame. An alarm without snooze?

      Uninstalled.

As for the zen tune, I didn't listen to it long enough to judge. I normally either get up immediately, or hit snooze, so the alarm never goes off for long. The few seconds I did hear didn't blow me away.
