They used to be about 99c but my favourite thing about them was the could stand vertically. Anyone know what happened to them or an alternative "standing" toothpaste out there?

Have you tried more than one store? Sometimes item will 'disappear' off the shelf when they run out of stock.
Mine had run out of decaf coffee (I know) and it 'missing' from the shelf for ages, until new stock arrived.
and you could always GASP ask some one in store what happened to it.
White glo can stand vertically, though it's a fair bit more expensive
I miss this product too, the $1 price was great. But that's Aldi for you, product lines go in and out.
Update: The new caps seem to be back now!
Just unscrew the cap and put it on another brand of toothpaste. That’s what I do.
