  • can you do any deals on the accessories, i just bought this kit (arrived today), I want to add more devices (plugs, switchs, sensors, lights).

    • +1

My other deal currently at the top of the front page has the switches ;)

      • cheers, i thought it had expired. grabbed 4x power sockets.

      • where is the link to the cheap switches ?

  • Man I remember thinking 70 was cheap. Maybe I should get another one when I hit the 15 devices limit.

    • +2

I believe the limit is 30.

      • Oh! That's much better, I was thinking you'd hit 15 pretty quick.

  • shows as AUD $ 60.10 for me when I hit the link (or $43.50 US)
I assume it another buy in USD and convert on own card

    • Tried as well, same problem. Also got coupons as new member. They were also not applied.
      Cancelled order.

  • Is the UI in English?

    • +1

Most of it is. Some things like the tutorials aren't but it's hardly rocket science.

  • How well do these work as an alarm? Will it ping my phone reliably if motion is detected?

    Thanks!

    • +1

It's pretty good. I linked camera to gateway too and loaded a siren tone. So when motion is detected siren goes off and also quick alert and 15sec video on the phone.

If only loading Aus radio streams on the gateway was easy.

    • for me, few sec delay,, but works fine so far, (just 1.5 month experience..)

  • Good catch, I was just hunting for such a deal. Got the 70-mile dashcam yesterday, it was a really good project for that price.

    • the 70-mile, is that good compare to others?

the audio of the help is only in chinese?

and voice controls can only be spoken in chinese?

      • I haven't tried myself so I cannot answer your question. Looks like this is a kickstarter like project for local Chinese market so I have no idea how the i18n works.

  • any chance for a deal on the bedside lamp!?… need one fast for a chrissy pressie for my daughter - her current aurora lamp is on its way out…

  • Thanks KarnageX, a bargain, getting one now…!
pinky - the bulb would need to be controlled with a phone or tablet, not what you want a kid ready for sleep to be fiddling with! the bedlamp can be controlled manualy :)

    • don't need to do anything…

the app can be program to turn the bulb on or off automatically at bed time..

you can also still turn it off manually with the switch

      • yeh I know what it's capable of… I'm guessing you dont have any kids, otherwise youd understand the need to change colour and mode, on and off, without a phone/tablet let alone getting out of a bunk bed to turn off a light ;)

  • +1

Anyone linked it to Google Home/Assistant? Direct or via IFTTT ?

  • i've successfully setup HASS on my PI3 and have added the gateway but i'm having some trouble setting up some of the triggers/automations.

Anybody able to give me a hand? will be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

  • Do you need to use a travel adapter to plug these into Australian sockets ?

    • +1

No. It uses the 3 pin Chinese plug which is similar to ours but upside and no insulation.

      • That's not kosher

  • +1

    Hi guys,

New to this home automation thingy.. can someone tell me the answer to the following q's?

    1. Is Zigbee version better in general vs normal wifi?2
    2. Does Xiaomi stuff (zigbee version) work well with Google Home/Assistant out of the box? I read that I need to use Home Assistant using Raspberry Pi 3 + IFFT?
    • to make it more confusing they now have 2versions of the switches and 2versions of the motion sensors ….with zig bee but there are issues with reading battery levels remotely ?

      • how do you know that? link?

        • I think both versions work fine with H.A. based on what I've read (not on experience as I don't have HA yet)

  • now $66.99

  • +3

deal has expired already? Can this deal come back please?..

  • +2

Supposed to be for 24 hours but expired already :( Can you put it back on please?

  • damn.. missed this deal

  • Do these work with Amazon Alexa?

  • Can you do this deal again at all?

  • Any more deals on the 5 in 1 kits? Thanks
