Hi everybody. I've recently purchased a LG V20 from the last Allphones eBay deal. I have been using the v20 for a week now and I found the phone's reception to be extremely weak. I previously using a Moto G4 plus and I get at least 4 bars@4G. Now that the v20 only gets 3 bars@H. I've tried update the firmware but the problem stays the same.
Does anybody experience the same issue as I do? Is this phone defective and what can I do with this?
LG V20 Weak Signal
Comments
It's already set to LTE auto.
I bought mine from JB Hifi in January and experience the same thing. In my case, i have organised LG to take the phone and look at it (albeit almost being 6 months with issue).
I'd take it back to allophones first and tell them if it's faulty, otherwise take it to LG.
So did LG replaced you a new V20? And is your replacement phone's reception any different to your old one?
Getting it checked out. Haven't actually sent it to them yet
Every brand of phone is different. We have 4 different types of mobiles in our household and everyone of them gets a different signal.
All depends on phone and antenna design.
Telstra have blue tick phones that have been tested for best reception. Some phones pass, some phones fail.
Going from 4 bars to 3 bars is not extremely weak in my opinion. 5 bars to 1 bar would be an issue.
I'm not getting 4G most of the time, 3 bars is at H not 4G which is a huge difference.
Reviving an old thread. My sister got this phone in Jan off ebay, brand new. She's complained of signal issues, but I brushed them off. Tonight I put my sim into her phone and she cant make or receive calls. My lg V20 can, so I am thinking this is a phone issue.
I contacted the ebay seller but given it's 10m down the line, not sure if I will have much luck with themThere isn't mention if this is a AU stick with local warranty but I got it off celletel.llc
Will post their response here.
Have you set the Preferred network mode to GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto?
