Hi everyone,
I'm looking to get a new printer.
Features I'm looking for are:
- low running cost
- includes photocopying/scanning
- wireless
- around $100
Will be mainly used for documents so superb picture quality is not an absolute necessity.
Thanks

A couple are
Epson Expression Premium Wireless Inkjet MFC Printer XP-640
But cartridges are $34 for upto 530 pages
Canon Pixma Home Wireless Inkjet MFC Printer MG5765
Gets $34 cartidges for 4425 pages. Reviews aren't good though
Not sure why such a great difference in pages/cartridge
Id recommend a laser printer, and for your budget I would stick to monochrome (Black & White). You so many more pages printer per dollar than an Ink Jet and Ink Jet needs you to use the printer frequently for the ink to stay fresh
Pretty sure the 670 cartridges don't have a capacity of 4425 pages lol
Yeah seemed overly inflated. Maybe if you print a single line of text per page.
I would recommend a wireless mono laser printer with inbuilt flatbed scanner. Find one for $100 and it ticks all your boxes.
Any experience with a particular printer model/brand?
Brother 2305 will tick all the boxes, and very low running costs, except no scanner. Do you really need one? Occasional document I need scanned I use my phone.
I have found a laser to be more reliable when the printer is used infrequently, but the can be loud and more expensive per page.
more expensive than what?
an inkjet
Could you provide an example of an inkjet printer that is cheaper per page than a el-cheapo $99 Brother 2305 printer that uses $27 generic or $69 genuine 2600 page toners?
Not for the same price. I had an HP 8600 which was very cheap per page, but they were more expensive.
The HP ink is $55 for 2300 pages or $18 for the generic. I always had trouble with the generic.
Through your own research, what are you think of so far?
