I left it very late.. but I have an 80s dress-up tonight.
I don't really want to hire a costume.. would rather try and put something together quickly.
Can anyone think of something that is easy to make with just buying some stuff from Chadstone for example?
I'm a guy by the way.
Punk? Ripped old jeans, shirt/singlet, safety pins, fake patches, etc.
Acid-washed denim, fanny pack, white or pastel-coloured suit with a skinny leather tie, neon colours, sweater draped over your shoulders, sunglasses at night.

Robert smith from The Cure; black clothes, black wig and a bit of make up. Also do the make up yourself, the shitter it looks, the better!
Cheap polyester suit jacket, pastel coloured if possible, push the sleeves up, skinny tie or turtleneck under the jacket, lots of gel in hair
I went to one recently and dressed up as a Motley Crue Style rocker - wig from the $2 shop and the rest came from mainly my wife's wardrobe + makeup

Get the to an op shop ASAP. If you are female get an oversized tshirt, preferably with a slogan, and a pair of lairy leggings. Or you can go for the power suit with boosted shoulder pads. Don’t forget the big pouffy hairstyle. For guys I would go for the pastel coloured shirt ala Miami vice.

Go dressed in a short safari suit and knee high socks, makes the chicks will go wild.
Get a walking frame, grey wig and some old people clothes … 80s

knight rider: jeans, shirt, leather jacket, curly wig.
Most cheap/$2/reject shops sell dress ups and accessories. You can get a cheap wig and as others have suggested, use clothes you already have or get some from an Op Shop. Warwick Capper sounds like a simple solution to me… mullet wig and short shorts. Good luck and have fun ;-)
