Deal of the Day: ESET Antivirus OEM (1 Device 1 Year License), $2 @ MSY

81

MSY's Deal of the Day: OEM copy of ESET's NOD32 antivirus, normally $7 now down to just $2

While it does say it's an EOL product, this is likely just regular stock that's marked down and there should be sufficient qty

  • Oem usually means you need to buy a system with it (or a believable set of parts)

Not sure this is a legit bargain - check the clearance pdfs to see approximate stock levels

It's a legit bargain. ESET will tell you it's supposed to be sold with a new system, but they won't do anything to stop it.

      • Yep this is basically how it is, MSY does this a lot with antiviruses.

        • Better then free equivalent?

          @Slippery Fish:

I don't even have antivirus, don't really think you need it if you aren't careless.

Only have Defender and that's it and never had a problem.

Anything suspicious I want to run I use Sandboxie.

        • @Scab: people fill my USB HDD with "backup" movies, got me afew viruses that way lol.

          Defender is an antivirus ;)

        • @Clear:

I use Windows 7 and Defender is separate to antivirus, you can run both Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials.

For 7, Vista and XP Defender only removes spyware and that's why MS released Security Essentials.

For later Windows, Defender does both and you can't install MSE.

So depending on Windows version it's not necessarily an antivirus.

        • @Scab: Correct. Prior to Windows 8 and MSE, Windows Defender was an antispyware program.

Don't know why you're getting downvoted. I haven't used an anti virus on my computer for the past 5 years. All you need is some common sense.

Same, haven't used it in years and find it more trouble than it's worth.

All you have to do is use your brains and take a bit of care.

        it's a legit bargain.

describes how it breaks their terms of use

I guess our definitions of "legit" differ.

Yup even got it in writing from my ESET manager :)

        • AVG or Avast Free antivirus is better than Windows Defender imo and is more than enough for the average user.

      • Lol, i think both of our points stand :-)

  • People buy software at MSY? O_o

      No, they buy Asian takeaway.

        • Sweet and sour?
