Best Bluetooth Wireless over Ear Headphones for under $50 - $100 AUD

Looking at Amazon now some good ones for sub $100 and sub $50 AUD but wondering if anybody knows of any better ones somewhere else.

I guess quality > battery life for this one.

Foldable so I can keep it in a bag when not using it.

What else? Wired and wireless mode would be nice but not needed just want some good quality wireless headphones to listen to on the train and in and around the house.

Will most likely be going with some mpow from Amazon unless somebody else can show me the light with some better or cheaper ones.

Cheers thanks Ozbargain.

Definitely nothing over $150 AUD for now.

Will maybe save up for some more higher quality ones in the $300+ range in future maybe but definitely not now.

  • If you can put up with the design, these seem to be great value. I had the original Air's (bought for $40) and sound quality was pretty good (subjectively better than the Sony XB650BT's), as was battery life and the A2's seem to be an improvement. Amazon reviews are also favourable.

Thanks awesome. Not sure if trolling but these look alright haha lol.. they give off an old 80s 90s vintage colour scheme feel.

Nope definitely not trolling. Crazy good battery life (rated @ 33 hours) + 1 year Aus warranty which you don't get with Amazon. Used to be priced up around $80 (and are currently also $50 on Amazon).

They look ridiculous. I wouldn't want to be seen wearing those.
          Neg away.

        • Never said they looked great, the second design looks like something I'd see in Target/kmart marketed as 'kids headphones'. But they're functional and cheap.

  • don't like iems ?

    zs5 + bt module

    • That's next on my list of options. I have some cheap s6 ones from I think from gearbest or banggood but the quality is not great and the noise cancellation is okay at best.. Looking for over ear for the long rides where I can just nod off and listen to music while my tablet and phone is safely in my bag.

my advice would be not to skimp. bluedio ones that i bought for around $20 are absolute trash. go to a hi-fi store like addicted to audio and try some out. they shouldnt hassle you if you just say you're trying them out

    • What's the cheapest you would recommend while still retaining good quality?

      • no idea. what about them $50 ones on the myer deal today? if your budget was higher, id suggest qc35

        • Having a look at them. I found some 2 in 1 wired ones from Amazon that also have a mic just don't know about the sound quality and everything else..

Am leaning towards the Sony ones because Sony is usually really good especially with sound stuff.

Always still looking for more options because especially with headphones there are a lot of them more variety than phones I reckon if not more.

        • @AlienC: please try before you buy. comfort is a major factor that simply can't be described

        • @tomkun01: so very true cheers thanks for the reminder and recommendations

I saw this post the other day and was going to leave it, but too late now…
    Jesus.

A few years ago, now Probably closer to double that (also, Jesus), I went looking for a pair of headphones with (mucho-retro) built-in FM radio. A specific reason at the time would have prompted, but I forget exactly what that was.

Anyway, very few of any sort available. Almost all heavy and didn't fold. All just a bit too retro, and even beyond that, various and obvious crap.

I stumbled across a brand on AliExpress, not promising in name, but model found - B370, foldable in way wanted and with the bonus of bluetooth. Only subsequently found the B380 model (with screen). I ended-up buying a number of them for purpose of dangerously frisbee-able gifts. The box does frisbee quite well. No one maimed despite best effort. Alas.

Simply put, a very (and very surprisingly) sensitive radio tuner, pretty great general sound quality at the price (about thirty bucks delivered, at the time), good battery life and comfort. Excellent bluetooth performance.

Somewhere previous to and along the line, I became a bit of a collector of bluetooth-enabled gear - from Nokia's early set of speakers, to various hamburger/canister/waterproof speakers, much more expensive headphones, then through thousand dollar bookshelf speakers with apt-x bluetooth built-in. All of that doesn't include the various adapters bought for other speakers. Most things purchased still get a run, but…

None of those bibs/bobs has any better bluetooth range, speed of auto-reconnect after going beyond range, or resistance to interference, than those cheap little headphones out of a factory in Shenzhen. Most perform much worse, in at least one respect or other.

    I'm sounding a bit zealous…

I haven't ventured back to look for listings on AliExpress, but here's a link that pops-up on Google for a Zapals one -
    https://www.zapals.com/zealot-b380-wireless-bluetooth-headseā€¦
If your browser doesn't auto-click through those photos, available also in black and orange. That last colour may be for Netherlandian, alien, OzBargainers…

No NC of course in this price range, and you wanted over-ear, not on-ear.

Watch this 'exciting' review on Youtube for a different model that fits that bill. Replaceable battery feature and sparkly LED's (marker/tape/blu-tack) aside… Likely the same electronic and driver guts inside. If brave on train/bus, "Sparkle" does rhyme with *Meghan Markle*. You may find yourself somehow excitingly, royally, on-trend…

    Here's another model. May suit.
If interested, I'll let you follow your nose down various rabbitholes in relation to all of those.

You can report back if you buy one and post a deal if ticks requisite OzBargain boxes for that. Performance v price for the brand, certainly OzBargain-worthy.

None of those at any price likely to see you venture overdrawn on that Westpac account of yours…

    • :p Ozbargain is just a game that we play ;)

:) I thought that your post came with an actual intent to buy. Music is an important part of life, so feeling your pain.

A new to you and maybe even better pair of budget headphones than you were fearing available at low price. That was intent of the above and thought might momentarily distract you from your *hopefully within reasoned bounds*, woes and angst and other concerns. Theory was, anyway..

Via headphones or whatnot, have a listen to this little munchkin/ragamuffin star from your (and Mr. Skegg's) neck of the woods, Katoomba. If you haven't heard of her by now, you bloody well should have. Here, recent - from not your neck of the woods
Girl can sing. Enjoy that and have a good day, and rest of the week.

        :-)
