I am planning to buy Google Pixel 2 XL on a new contract with Telstra (I am currently on BYO MOM plan with optus). Any advice if I should wait till boxing day for some freebies or just get it over with?

why not just buy a Xiaomi with high-end specs. seems more better than getting a Google pixel 2 for more than $1000 just to be different to the Samsung/Iphone crowds.,,
