How much are they normally?
I purchased 180x210 stone colour for about $45 about a year ago.
Simply Bunnings playing follow the leader like they always do to give the illusion they are cheap. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/343431 Top product as an example. Spotlight had these on sale last month as well, reason for price drop then https://pricehipster.com/?q=Blockout%20Roller%20Blinds Last month https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/336445
You'd prefer they didn't?
https://www.quicksprout.com/images/whining.jpg60x210 is even cheaper at $16.80
Wasn't the intention to complain or whine. From a person with no marketing experience or real knowledge, I find Bunnings marketing strategy fascinating, it was especially interesting when Masters was around. There was a fascinating article some time ago about how website traffic increased when ALDI released a hardware catalogue, and how Bunnings would then respond.
It's called competition. A decent scenario for consumers overall, as long as predatory pricing isn't involved. Generally speaking I'll give my business to the company which announces the deal first (rather than the lazy price-matcher) but that depends on accessibility and ease of return etc.
Consumers are interesting. In Canberra Bunnings "forced" the closure of two other large hardware stores despite the fact that the latter were often cheaper on many products - esp paint. And they were located a stone's throw from each other so location wasn't the issue. Go figure.
Still no mounts included
"With easy to install brackets and high quality mechanisms for effortless operation, Charm Blockout Roller Blinds from Windoware are made from 100% blockout fabric and are ideal for areas requiring total light protection."
I'll have a look tomorrow and confirm.
Hardware Included No
It comes with white plastic mounting hardware, plastic chain and screws.
Just bought one. Can confirm the website is wrong. There are little mounting brackets in the kit.
Not bad price but is it worth the hassle of installation and what if you need custom made blinds. We recently got quoted $2500 to replace the blinds for our 30sq home which included custom made blockout and filter blinds, side brackets in bedroom to block sunlight seeping in + installation
If you are handy with a screw driver and a drill you can have one up within minutes. but your professional blind quote would have steel brackets and chain I'd imagine.
Yeah they will come with steel brackets and chain.
I removed all curtains in my house and changed over to blinds that I got cheap during the Spotlight sale a few weeks ago.
I couldn't find the exact right sizes so instead of getting custom made blinds I brought the larger size and cut them down with a compound sliding mitre saw.
I was very nervous to begin with but after the first few it was dead easy.
Make sure they are closed tight. I used gladwrap to hold them closed tight.
Banged one side on the ground a few times to ensure that side is even.
Then measure and cut the other side with the saw.
All came out perfectly straight and even. Only the first one had a bit of fraying as I didn't cut quickly as I was nervous.Im not that handy and wouldnt risk it, rather pay and leave it to the professionals :)
Max size 210*210
