[XB1] The LEGO Movie Video Game $0.02 @ Target (In Stores Only)

450

It is noted this item is meant to be sold as a bundle (i.e Game console) and not as a standalone item

Join Emmet and an unlikely group of resistance fighters in their heroic quest to thwart Lord Business’ evil plans—a mission that Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously unprepared for. It’s a wild ride with a surprising mix of over 90 playable characters including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Green Ninja, Gandalf, Shakespeare, Cleopatra and more.

In store only - not available online

Too funny - they were probably aiming for $20 as a price point

  • Looks like a full game download code so perhaps this is part of a bundle?

  • +2

It was available for c&c and delivery at the time of post. Target must have amended it…

Just my 2 cents, its probably a pricing error…

Not if it's surplus "Bundle" stock. It would be illegal to be sold separately.
Fwiw, I've picked up X360 games at Target priced "2c" in the past. You have to buy something else to make a valid transaction, so you effectively get the game for free. At Leichhardt I got Forza Horizon for 5c (priced at 2c).
At Broadway I got Viva Pinata, Kinect Sports 1 & 2, Disneyland, and a couple of others all for about $4 total - the desk had to find an item of valid price to scan to permit a transaction but the guy at the desk insisted on scanning it for each item.
Some items were physical discs, others download codes.

That said, I found a bunch of 'non-retail' Tomb Raider (I think, or something similar) on the shelf at Burwood. They scanned at 2c but the guy on the desk insisted I pay $10, which I think was the price for the item normally. When I queried why he wanted to charge me $10 for an item that is scanning at 2c, he firmly decalred it was a pricing error. When I countered that it's non-retail stock and can't be sold straight he just went and took them off the shelf then did his best to ignore me by hiding behind the counter with his back to me.
Not the first time the staff at Burwood Target have been very poor.

I've seen several deals posted here of Big W clearing such stock for 1c!

      • Your ozbargain skills are legendary!

  • Not available at Target Camberwell.

  • Every Lego game instore but that one… Go figure o.O

If I pay cash, it will be rounded down to $0?

    • Tax evasion!!!!

  • It says it is in stock at the Target 5 minutes from me (West Lakes SA), I should head down and see if I can buy it

    • +1

      Did you buy it?

      • +6

Hes probably still haggling for a cheaper price

  • +2

    2 cents too much.

  • +8

Already got it, but I'm near a target and I'll have a look, might make a decent prezzie for someone at that price. Cheers OP, will post results when done.

Edit: none in stock at Eastland and phoned chirnside for the same story. Apparently the poor girl has already had a few people ask, and one was quite angry about it. (profanity) you, guy who gave the girl a hard time.

  • I don't even have an xbox one but I am still wanting it..
Hmmm I wonder how much EB games will sell it off me for?

Or I could just get an Xbox One :D

    • Digital code :'(

      • :(
At two cents though, I'm sure I'll find someone who will want it :P

Taking it you can't use it on Xbox 360?

        • +1

Nah man. The game has a separate 360 version.

        • @TheDukeOfNukem: Hmm.. Thanks anyway I might still find a use for this. Although I still have an XB1 Fifa 15 unopened (disk) which should inform you on my motivation levels lol

        • @pennypincher98: I too, know the struggle of the backlog.

That is not a valid reason to neg a deal. Use the report button to request a title fix.

  • +4

This isn’t a deal as no one has stock

  • +2

They were only supposed to be bundle with consoles, hence the $0.02 price tag and cannot be sold separately.

    • -1

More like the staff is too scared to sell separately… even know it's listed For Sale on their website… err… was o.O

    • +4

Exactly, seen this happen before. Amount just rounds off with a console purchase amount and only registers as an item at the register so the store can keep account of stock levels.

  • I've seen something similar on purchase receipt before. ie. Purchased bundle and the bundle items are 2 cents etc.
Its a while back, but I think I returned main item, and kept the free item before. At eb games that was. Was like buy 2, get 1 free. And returned the 2, with free game of bundle kept.
I guess you might be able to do this with many items that come up as 0.00 or $0.02 etc, could purchase the few items together as 'bundle' then return other items, so your just left with items purchased for the 2 cents :)
