$9 shipping to Brisbane takes this to $118, and with a umart around the corner with this regularly at $125 the deal is weakened
Any bargains on the 500GB or 1TB models?
They have the 1TB version @ $369 with free shipping:

What happened to 120gb models? Can't find them online nowadays.

^^120GB "Samsung SSD 850" New product released in China right now. Maybe it'll make it to our markets.
(they've discontinued the 120GB 850 EVO, the 120GB 850 Pro, & the 750 EVO).
Prices on SSD and laptops have been going up since last year. I remember 1.5 years ago the price of this SSD was the same as it is now. Back then I got the Crucial MX300 525GB for $140, now it is ~$100 on top of that price.
Yeah memory of SSD and RAM has fluctuated. In truth they should be dead cheap, but they want to keep the monopoly running.
Memory prices have gone up because the pc market is now sharing chips with servers/datacenters which are all ramping up big time worldwide. Once you understand that it's just a matter of supply and demand
No. That's a dumb concept. Servers existed more than 4 years ago…
And Intel were still focusing on their consumer market. Now most of their products and technology are concentrating on data centres and long -term storage solutions.
@smuggler: No. Most of the cards, drives and chips we use would not find their way into a server room.
This wouldn't explain the fact that chips fluctuate randomly. We've had needs for servers and demand for servers for yonkers.
Wow that's cheap.
Expect lots of 850 EVOs to go on sale in the next few weeks/months. A new 850 (non-Evo and non-Pro) variant with different internals is coming to market shortly
Why is it called 850 if it's new. I never understood Samsung's SSD marketing.
I still have a 740 PRO I think. It's blazing fast and beat the old (?) 850s.
I think you mean 840 pro
Yeah. Not sure. It was released 4 or so years ago.
@StoneSin: It is, I have the same one, great drive. :)
Idk why they choose to name products they way that they do. Regardless, here is an 850 review
It's still using SATA III and I doubt it's beating an 850 by much. 10 MB/s? lol
The bottleneck of 6 Gbps is still there. 2.5" and m.2 PCI-E Drives are where's it's at.
cheaper than when its on sale
Couldn't live without my SSD! but I have this size at the moment and it's not enough,, hope some sales happen for a 500gb ssd.
For all those looking for something bigger, they have the 500gb for $194 http://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/samsung-850-evo-500gb-…
And the 1TB for $369 http://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/samsung-850-evo-1tb-ss…
Seems to be about the same price as MSY.
Who's better at warranties and returns if it's Shopping Express vs a brick and mortar computer shop?
https://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=850+evo+500gb&…
Considering the Federal Court of Australia notice on MSY's website, I'm going to guess Shopping Express are better at warranties :P
Although for the next 6 months threatening MSY with a complaint will probably get your warranty sorted quickly.
Free shipping on the 1TB model too.
Shipping is $8 for Melbourne metro for one, $9 for two.
Not much of a bargain happening here unfortunately.
