Trading My PS4 500GB for EB Games' PS4 Pro 1TB+5 Games, for $375 ($549 RRP). Is This a Good Deal?

Some background info:
- I'm a level 3 member of EBgames.
- I have my extra 50% trade credit bonus for any games I traded in during this month as it is my Birthday.
- Spoke to the local EBgames and Sale Rep said the price I have to pay is approx $375 just for trading in my old PS4 alone, not factor in any extra controls or games trading. That's a saving of $174 out of $549
- I have 3 out of the 5 games they offer but I'm aware I can trade them back in for credit after purchase.

I generally purchase stuff in simple, straight-forward transaction and have never participated in trading like this. Just want to ask of those who have done this with EB games what they think of the offer.

Also, if I go ahead with the purchase, Should I back up my old PS4 into a separate hard drive before resetting it, or PS+ cloud storage is all I need?

    Hmm I'm sure they have had deals in the past where you can trade in a ps4 for a pro and pay $299. Do I'd say not a great deal

    The value of the Pro has dropped radically following the release of the Xbox One X. So, if I were you (and Sony-centric), I'd just sell my console privately to a family member for cheap and use that as a discount on the cheapest Pro you can find at retail via OzBargain. Honestly though, the X is a better option if you like games beyond the few Sony first party options. The Xbone X is a beast and is capable of native 4k, rather than fake CB 4k on the Pro (or just 1440p). All of that makes for a gigantically noticeable difference on a 50+ inch screen.

      Thank you for your suggestion. I really thought it was an ok trade. I have a mint condition Xbox one S sitting in my room not seeing much use, so I won't purchase the Xbox X anytime soon. All my games are on PlayStation anyway.

        No probs :) As an enthusiast gamer: the PS4 Pro is a great console and is the best way to experience the amazing PS4 game library. But the current PS4 Pro console is much much louder, and larger than the competition. When a smaller, revised PS4 Pro gets released (innevitably, Mark Cerny will take the amazing Xbox One X to heart and want to out do it), it'll be a definite pick-up. I'd wait for that unless there is a game you need to play now with the PS4 Pro enhancements. Either way though, you'll be happy. The PS4 is this generations PS2. Good times!

    I don't know man. When I traded my launch day xbox one for an xbox one S, I ended up changing over for about $100, but then I got $50 for my digital copy of BF1 on ebay, and I got $30 for my Kinetic, so it ended up costing me $20. I think that was a good change up.

      this is my initial thought too, but I guess selling my old PS4 is more profitable according to the suggestions. Will have to research on 'how to sell stuff on ebay' now :)

    Not a good deal they jacked the price of the console.

    I got the console today for $499 - and here’s how.
    Just tell them that where’s the PS PRO with 5 games for $499? And they’ll say it’s $549. Then say it’s illegal to price jack… (there’s a sticker over the $499 poster.) the sale ends Monday and you increases the price.

    Worked for me. (At Frankston EB Games) I only have 1 out of the 5 games, got it delivered to my house.

    I cleaned my PS4, now I’m going to sell it with fallout 4 for $300.

      I was confused about this at first, $499 or $549. But apparently , the price tag $499 expired last night. I checked the EB site this morning and it's back to $549 now

        The price tag was meant to be $499 until Monday, so they technically price jacked their deal.

    I traded my slim xbox one s with 3 games
    For a xbox one x for $375

    As for the games i got them digital thru the gold program :)

    Just get a nokia 3310 and play the snake game. Much cheaper.
