Sydney Trains - Boxing Day

Does anyone know how Sydney's train line to Kiama operates on this day? I've booked a flight into Sydney planning to catch a train to Kiama and be picked up by mates but can't use their trip planner that far ahead. I tried to find some information on their Boxing Day schedule but I just can't and I didn't want the flight price to raise if I waited.

  • I see the problem, it's one day away from being published. But the fact they have regular services on Xmas day (which currently can be viewed) indicates it will be running despite being a public holiday. I'd go ahead and book, if you have to rock up a little early so be it.

The Boxing Day schedule will be the Sunday timetable whatever it is when the new timetable is released tomorrow. The train to Kiama will definitely run as there's no trackwork on that line that day.

For public holidays, the trains run on a Sunday timetable.

A new train timetable starts on Monday 26th November so wait until Monday.

    • You mean Monday 26/11/2018?

We’re making improvements to Sydney’s rail system to ensure we meet the needs of our growing city as part of the NSW Government’s $1.5 billion More Trains More Service program. To introduce these changes, a new timetable will be implemented from Sunday 26 November 2017. This will include more weekly train services, and will be the largest increase in capacity ever introduced to Sydney’s train network at the one time.

        • Monday will never be 26/11 unless in 2018, that was my point.

      • Monday coming up in two days lol 27th November 2017.

I catch the trains on weekdays so for me the new changes kicks in on Monday :)

    • You can already view the new timetable though, and could for weeks.

      • Someone tell the OP!

        • No idea where Kiama is though, so not sure how much it will be, if it all, affected.
