Where Can I Find This Headphone Cable?

My daughter has some headphones that have stopped working. She is fairly rough on the cable and sure enough it looks damaged, and so i’d like to replace it.

But I simply can’t find the right cable either at Officeworks, JB, CableChick or eBay, and so I wonder if it has some universal but non-obvious name that I just don’t know.

It has three 3.5mm (male) jacks, one of which plugs into the headphone socket on her iPad, with the other two plugging in to two sockets on her headphones, one on the feft and one on the right.

There are numerous “3.5mm male to dual 3.5mm FEMALE audio cables” and numerous “3.5mm to dual RCA” and so on.

If anyone knows somewhere in Australia that I can get this, I’d appreciate it..

  • What model are the headphones?

A picture of the cable would probably make things easier

DIY with a little soldering. She broke it, she fixes it. Bonding time with your daughter.

Adding 'Sol Republic' to your search helps, eg: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/122693399668 or https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/192052226374 if you want colours.

Those two have buttons & 4-terminal plug for microphone etc, should still work.

This one doesn't: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/172985671112. Didn't see any Oz stock in my quick look.

  • Sainsbury Electronics?

  • Buy a new one, it’s not worth to fix it, it could be something else, not cable :)

Maybe use a 3.5mm AUX cable to check each side individually and to confirm that it is the cable?

Why don’t you post a picture of the headphones?

    What brand ? Etc

The description is not helping much. You will need to provide a picture.

Assuming it's a 3.5mm jack on all three ends of a Y-cable then you could just buy a headphone-splitter and two 3.5mm M-M AUX cables.

Or DIY it. It's a really simple project that will teach your daughter valuable skills.
