Interesting that it is a "clearance" for JB and "new" for Officeworks.

Awww. Had the hassle of going in store at JB. This would have been easier. Better colour selection too.

  • This or the HTC Ultra, choices choices haha

  • consider HTC Ultra first, which is released in 2017, would get more OS update, better cpu & camera & look

  • Bought htc ultra from JB hifi.. newish hardware and os..

  • Day dream.

  • Fix for Blueborne and KRACK doesn't seem to be in the horizon for this ZTE fone

  • Anywhere we can price match this to get an even better price?

    • Only way I thought of getting it cheaper is when/if Officeworks post these on their eBay store.

  • Does anyone know if the Australian version supports band 20 (800 mhz) that's equivalent to our band 28 in Aust? No specific mention on OW or ZTE Aust website.

Can anyone with the Aust version confirm. Thanks.

    • Specs page here has all the bands. Does look like B20 is there.

      • Thanks. That's what I checked. No mention of brand 20 even though the A2017G is supposed to support it

        4G LTE TDD-LTE: 2500 MHz(Band 38), 2300 MHz(Band 40), 2400 MHz(Band 41)
        FDD-LTE: 2100 MHz(Band 1), 1900 MHz(Band 2), 1800 MHz(Band 3), 1700 MHz(Band 4), 850 MHz(Band 5),
        2600 MHz(Band 7), 900 MHz(Band 8), 850MHz(Band 19), 700 MHz(Band 28)

  • Anyone who bought theirs from Officeworks…did you need to upgrade to B11 or was it already installed? The Axon 7 site mentions that if you bought from Officeworks that you don't need to upgrade to Nougat, but it also gives you instructions to upgrade when the phone is brand new…without telling you how to check the Android version first. Thanks

EDIT: Never mind…I think I found the answer.

  • Mine from officeworks. I followed the instructions on the ZTE site and downloaded B11 which took for ever only to find out the phone had B11 already. I just had to install Nougat.

    • Thanks EarthMan

    • How did you install Nougat? Did you just wait for your phone to automatically get it?

      • +1

You need to download the Nougat zip file from ZTE Australia website, unzip, rename and put on the SD card. Then from the app go to updates and it will find it.

        • Thanks!

  • Does ZTE still provide the "AXON 7 VIP Complimentary Accidental Cover Package - AUD$300.00 value"?

As mentioned in this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/318753.

  • this - or the Motorola g5s plus?

    • +1

I picked one of these up yesterday, and have to say it rivals/beats my wife’s Moto Z Play, which I would argue is a slightly better phone & spec than the G5 Plus or G5S Plus. Im coming from a Moto X Play, and the only downside compared to those two (Moto X Play & Z Play) is the battery life and the phone is not waterproof. Its faster, camera photos are better (less shutter lag so less blurry photos), wifi seems faster, etc. Having the 2 year warranty plus the 2 year accidental cover package is great.

Hello people! Anyone who picked up one of these recently and wants to root it, I did it today, posted a link a to the guide I used and some notes about how my experiences were.

Read about it here but beware, it wasn't the easiest phone to root, you'll read alot more disclaimers than usual.

  • Anyone had an experience with their system updates, I’m getting a constant network unavailable message,

    • +1

To get it up to Nougat you have to do it manually (two steps) - http://www.ztemobiles.com.au/feature_AXON7.htm (firmware tab). B10 upgrade then Nougat. Apologies if you've already done this :).

      • Yep worked it out, was already on a more recent firmware so only needed to do step 2.

        Thanks

  • Is Axon 7 still a good phone in terms of technology and value for money though it was released in 2016 and Axon 7s is out in market and Axon 8 (sooni'sh) has been talked about already? What should be the right price for it?
