Hi hrb93, are you referring to the Forces or the outdoor version? Did you give this feedback to the store you bought them from or reach out to Salomon or Amer Australia?
Exactly what you have pictured speedcross 3. Mine are blue with the orange sole.
Pictured are the Speedcross Forces, which are the military/LE version and they only come in black. If yours are blue and orange then they are part of the outdoor/civilian range. Nonetheless, you should always give feedback to the store you bought them from so they are aware of any such issues.
@Spearpoint: I don't think Speedcross forces is no different from speedcross 3 in the sole material they use. I own the forces and what hrb93 said is right-the sole wears out quickly as compared to other soles.Saying that its a trail runner which actually uses soft sole for better grip i read.
@JJJ: seems a relatively common problem for some of the lighter weight sports/trail shoes. I've seen many reviews of the soft-soled North Face Ultra and other soft-soled Salomons saying the same thing. Has put me off buying them. Comfort and reasonable longevity are important to me.
From experience, the sole will last at least 12 to 18 months with frequent use. Remember, it is designed for mud, wet, and snow, so it cannot be expected to last as long as a conventional running shoe.
Shipping method
Australia Post Parcel Post Satchel (Large) $17.00
Australia Post Overnight Express Satchel $23.00
TNT Road Express $25.00Your returns policy makes it a bit difficult to buy shoes over the internet.
Hi Nuggets, which part are you referring to? The majority of our customers buy through our website without issue.
According to your returns page, it says you do not accept returns for change of mind.
So if a shoe doesn't fit correctly, I can't send it back, which means it's risky to buy from you.
Other stores like Wild Earth allow returns for any reason within 80 days - this gives peace of mind.
If you return them in the original condition (clean, not visibly worn, tags still attached and in the original box) we are more than happy to accept returns. You will however need to cover the cost of the return freight. That said, generally if people buy the wrong size, they come back looking for an exchange, which our online policy does cover.
@Spearpoint: good to know, thanks.
@Spearpoint: I've just ordered a pair. Hopefully they fit, otherwise I probably won't be able to get an exchange as the other size I usually go for is sold out.
@Nuggets: Cheers, just saw your order come through. That's correct, as we aren't going to be re-stocking them/ordering more in. You would still be welcome to return them for a refund, though it would probably be more in your favour financially to just on-sell them, as you would lose the cost of the return postage.
@Spearpoint: Paypal offers a great refunded returns program.
Bought some stuff a few weeks ago, one item was out of stock, they advised and sorted alternative item over email on a sunday.
I got a pair of Navaho 3d and they are great, definitely better sole material than normal.I had to go 1.5 size up (12.5uk) due to wide foot. learnt that through trial and error with other Salomons. What's the difference between the regular Quest 4D and the Forces Quest 4D?
Is it just the solid colours?
Is it possible to order 2 sizes and return the one that doesn't fit?
I can't really say as we only sell the Forces range, but I imagine the colour scheme is the only difference. It's definitely possible to do what you've suggested, and sometimes I recommend that when people aren't sure of their size. We are very, very low on stocks of the Quest 4Ds though, in GTX and non-GTX, black and Navajo.
this is waterproof?
Hi, no they're not. They don't have a Gore-Tex membrane like some of the other models.
Do not buy, the tread wears out in 6 months and that's not clocking up any kms either.
