Extremely high quality ice cream (think better than Sara Lee and Conoisseur) for a much better per litre price.
I strongly recommend the vanilla bean (great to use as part of an affogato) however all of the classic flavours are there too.

I would say it's closer to ice cream than gelato. I've had Aurora and I love it but they're different products.
I just got back from there with a tub of Bottega siciliana cassata gelato and I'm impressed. It's just like you described, a cross-between gelato and ice cream. It's the first time that I've been to Lamanna and I was shocked at how large it is. I was expecting some medium sized grocery but the place is like an up-market Coles with lower shelves. It gave me the impression of a large David Jones food department with some familiar items from colesworths. I was walking around with a smile on my face.
I love LaManna, but the Bottega isn't their best product. I found their cookies and cream gelato to be underwhelming.
Fair enough - personally haven't tried their C&C, hard to go past Conoisseur's offering :)

You're after a different product, like Coyo, which I'm pretty sure Lamanna stock.
This isn't exactly ice cream, though, so can't directly compare to Connoisseur. I don't mind a bit of Aurora gelato, so I guess this is comparable to Aurora, yes?.
