Pay What You Want for 12 Month's Subscription of Switzer Investment Report

170

Last week we took a big risk and offered new subscribers the opportunity to name their own price for a 12 month subscription to the Switzer Report.

With an overwhelming number of positive responses that indicate how highly our report is valued, we've decided to extend this offer to ensure no one misses out before its gone.

So again, we pose the question to you: can you put a dollar value on your financial knowledge?

At the Switzer Report, we believe that good financial information should be available to all Australians and we're prepared to put our money where our mouth is.

Sign up today for a 12-month subscription and name your own price.

Don't forget - this includes full access to all of our subscription benefits. Not only will you receive three weekly newsletters, but you will also be able to view our model portfolios and have any investment-related question answered through our Q&A service.

  • Is it worth $1 ? that's the lowest possible.

    • +3

      Gives you an insult for the $1 and has auto-renew. I passed.

      • +5

        True. Says "Wow. Trying to get rid of your coins?" .. such a shame on them

      • Auto renews another $1 in 12 months time?

  • The site doesn't seem to be fully https secure…

    EDIT: Just typed in a www. in front and now it is :)

  • Time to make back all that money I spent on here

  • Some important information:

    4. Money Back Guarantee

    Switzer offers a money back guarantee subject to the following conditions:

    You signed up to your subscription on a page which displays the ‘Money Back Guarantee’ badge;
    You purchased an annual subscription and paid with a credit card. Subscribers who pay for their subscription via any means other than credit card are not eligible for a refund;
    You have subscribed to the report for no less than 30 days and at the time of requesting your refund had opened 80% of the delivered newsletters;
    You have requested a refund from Switzer in writing between 30 and 45 days after subscribing;
    You provide Switzer with feedback as to what you were expecting from the report, and how you feel the report didn’t live up to these expectations.
    Refunds will be credited into the same account from which the original payment was made. Switzer reserves the right to refuse a refund if they feel that the subscriber does not meet the above conditions. No refunds will be provided after 45 days.

    In other words, Money Back Guarantee does not apply because the page does not show "Money Back Guarantee" badge.

    5. Renewal

    Unless otherwise stated, credit card subscriptions will renew automatically at the conclusion of your subscription period at the full retail price ($397 for an annual subscription and $35 for a monthly subscription), unless we terminate it or you notify us by telephone, mail, or e-mail (receipt of which must be confirmed by email reply from us) that you do not wish for your subscription to renew automatically. You must cancel your subscription before it renews in order to avoid the billing of a subscription fee

    In other words, you need to cancel in 12 months otherwise they'll charge you $397/year.

      "(receipt of which must be confirmed by email reply from us)"
      Based on that, I can offer some "investment" advice for free - don't accept contracts where the other party sets and controls all facets of the conditional clauses.

    • So what happens if you send an email now to cancel the auto renew? Do you also lose access to the service? That wording suggests should be able to stop the auto renew now without loss of service.

    I can take a bot-insult in order to get a bargain, its no where near as bad as the the "look" the boost juice hipster gives you when you pull out your entertainment book at the last possible moment - could be the best $1 I've ever spent.

    • I split paid for a Boost juice to use up (if I recall correctly) less than a dollar balance of a prepaid EFTPOS card. Didn't even get a look, haha.

  • +3

    $5-99: “surely you can do better than that”
    $100-199: “don’t forget the report is tax deductible”
    $1000000: nothing :(

    • Insults you unless you pay half the regular rate

      • +4

        To folks around here, they are compliments.

    • +1

      If you offer $1000000 you get a message that says:

      "Thanks, Mr Turnbull, you now own the LNP"

      (Well, no it doesn't say that, but that's the way it seems in voterland). lol

  • So does it actually allow you to pay $1, or just insults you until you pay more?

    • +1

      Try negative $1000 so they pay you.

  • it can insult me all it likes.
    it accepted my just over a $1 request with a "Wow. Trying to get rid of your coins"
    but you just click next and move on and you pay what you want.
    for some an odd $1 or so is not worth it but as long as you can cancel before 12 months what u got to lose but a $1 odd..

    • yeah cancel now so you don't forget and get charged $400 next year.

  • +5

    I used prepaid MasterCard with $1 balance to pay

    • LOL

    anyone know how good is the investment report?

    • +2

      investment reports, how to play the stockmarket, financial seminars, make money on…. etc

      Are run by people who realise the only way to make money is to sell suckers err savvy investors their secrets.

      No one can predict the future (stockmarkets or otherwise). Some just luck it (and then sell their name as a result - like Mr Dent).

      You're best borrowing (local library via Zinio) the new year copy of Money mag and read their general advice - diversify, save as much money as you can, pay off your credit cards every month. Buy a House but inly if you can afford interest rates of around 7% (I think thats the 30yr average).

      And stop buying every Xiaomi product that comes out.

  • Used my Divipay virtual mastercard to pay $1.

  • +2

    The website is built by only a few persons called "experts". Actually there is not any expert. The quality of reports… We will see.
    Certainly do not compare this with Bloomberg or Economist. However even I had access and subscription of the best, I rarely read them. So I think I just wasted 1 dollar.

  • Subscribed to have a read but there's been No Breaking News since September? switzersuperreport.com.au/diy-super-news/

  • Switzer is one of the worst. What a bunch of low level advice, they simply target oldies who don’t know any better. Can’t stand that mumbling moron!

    • Pretty much these kinds of "reports" are just advertising material.

    • You may be conflating this with the I.P.A. shill who their ABC tried giving the entirety of RN's Sunday morning at one stage. He has moved on to the "The Centre for Independent Studies", so can now posit the I.P.A. as "independent.
      He has an Masters in International Bullshitting from Sydney.

    For anyone who signed up to this offer, note that they are NOT responding to emails. If you don't want to renew, ensure you do not have valid payment credentials on file. More: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/409923
