Willoughby(Sydney) Dan Murphy's now trying to say they will only price match with stores that are within 5km…. Used to be price match Sydney wide. So I went to First Choice down the road and they did price match…. easy decision for me going forward……. Suggest we all vote with our feet.
Dan Murphys is really not that competitive. I find much better deals at local independent bottle shops around Sydney. However, I haven't had any trouble getting a price match when convenient.
Which stores? I rarely find better prices on whisky as an example.
for fully imported beer.. amatos in leichhardt, kemenys in bondi and belrose hotel … for whisky sometimes vintage cellars beats them, but yes Dans are good on whisky prices.

If it's just a rogue attendant then it could be worth contacting the store manager because as previously mentioned the website still says 20km which was actually increased from 10km. However if this is the store managers decision then contacting Dan Murphy's customer service would likely rein in the store manager to abide by their Lowest Liquor Price Guarantee.

Reckon that when you control some 40% of the retail liquor market you can set your own rules!
Odd, the website still says 20km. Our store hasn't been instructed to reduce the radius, might be a decision form the store manager.
