$79 compared to their normal price of $109 is 28% discount.
Price in title.
Pretty cool, has a 2.4" LCD too.
Nice price w/ free shipping!
Has anyone used elite before? and does anyone have an experience with these alpine units ?
I considered them at one stage, but reviews weren't very positive so i went with a harman kardon one instead.
Gone up to $109 now, shady.
EDIT: Apologies, missed the further discount beat. Mod, please remove my neg?

I have one of these, bought it from COTD about 6-8 months ago. Not a bad unit, very clear when cabled to your head unit.
BT music and cabled music are both great.
For voice calls it's nice and clear on my side but a few friends say its a little unclear their end. Hit and miss really cause some friends say its fine.
Worst thing about it is the screen is VERY top heavy and impossible to stick to the dash with the supplied double sided tape or any other tape i've tried.
I personally keep it in my cup holder but that looks quite messy, the other option is to screw it into your dash but i wouldn't ever do that.
Does it support Iphone 4??? For calls and using Ipod from Iphone???
Yes, it will with the iPhone 4 but it won't charge it
is hardwiring one of these things difficult (ie for pros only) or is it something that can be done with a little guidance/clear instructions?
Wow, I didn't even know Alpine were still selling into Australia….I hadn't heard anything about them since the mid 90's!
This seems to be a good price for this unit, but at the end of the day, FM tuners are (unfortunately) next to useless in Sydney if your driving across town. ie you'll need to change the frequency a dozen times or so. Better suited to region areas and smaller cities I suspect.
$79 (rrp $299) is more than a 73% discount….which yes, is over 60%, but over 73% sounds better!
