Hi Guys I'm after a Mazda 3 SP25 GT and found some demos 2017 automatic on Carsales for $28300 drive away. It is my first time buying a car from a dealer and I would like to know if there is still room for negotiating a better price.
Cars have about 2.000 kms more or less and here in SA.

I've been researching to buy a Mazda 3 as well and have come across the spreadsheet off Whirlpool. The only thing I wish it had was which dealers the cars were bought from.
There is always room for negotiating from a dealer. How much will depend on the dealer, your negotiating skills, your desire to buy the car and the individual vehicle and how much profit margin is included in the sticker price.
A brand new one can be purchased for just a little more. My old man paid $31k in May for his.

Put it in writing and see. Best bet is to wait till Post-Xmas sales (December 27-31). If you have cash, and are willing to put the offer down in writing, you have the best leverage.

Hi Guys, I changed my mind and went to the dealer this morning to buy a new one. Got it for $29500 in Grey with mats, cargo mat and tinted windows.
It wasn't the best deal as per the spreadsheet but I think I got a good deal.
Now to surprise my wife next weekend with a new car.

SA, have a look at the spreadsheet above with details of prices in different states, models, etc.
It also depends on how are you approaching the salesman. If you expect him to give you that price you won't get it. You have to commit to the salesman with a price you are willing to pay and assure him you will pay the deposit right now if he can make a deal for that price. Never ask what is the best price they can give you, it won't work.
