CAAD Optimo is CAAD12's overachieving little brother. With trickle-down tech and identical geometry, it makes a killer first performance road bike, or great training/backup bike for EVO/CAAD12 owners.

How does the geometry influence the required groupo?
Usually people buying aggressive geometries like that, i.e bent over are simply more likely to be hammering.
So to race or keep up with fast groups on the road it makes more of a difference rather than cruising on a bike track where less noticeable.
Your bike is missing pedals…
It does come with pedals:

Ok. As you were
.. not really a big deal tbh. BFD is typically more expensive than other LBS. Plus it's a Sora (at that price, not even a Tiagra?) groupo. You're better off getting the Optimo's predecessor, the 2016 CAAD8 with the 105 for $999 (sold in other LBS).
Sora 9 speed
Tiagra 10 speed

LBS = Local Bike Shops??
Yes.. that's correct. Sorry, should have pointed that out at the start
I like the colour scheme. For racing geometry would want at least a 105 groupset imo.
