Free T-Shirt with Pepsi Purchase (Must Buy 10x 1.25l)

300

For 10 "points" you can get a free "retro" pepsi or other brand t shirt.

Each promotional bottle has a 12 digit code printed on the inside of the label to be entered on a website or SMSed to a promo number. So it is possible for this to be a completely free deal.

1 point per 1.25L or 2L bottle of pepsi max (presumably other pepsi items too),
2 points per 600mL bottle,
4 points per 24 x 375mL can slab

nothing for those woosey 250mL tightarse cans

and 10 points = free t shirt. There's a kind of limit for 6 t shirts per person (but easily gotten around), but there is NO postage charges, and the t shirts come in 5 sizes.

As of posting time, there were at least 500 of each size in each variety available.

The campest option is the solo branded shirt - you'll see what I mean when you see it.

Good luck !!

Please vote for this deal if you think it's a great one.

Please don't neg this deal if you disagree with pepsi's corporate evils, sugar etc

I think I have a problem with "free". It's not completely free because you only have a small chance of getting a special label. It's more like a game of chance. So nothing special.

    • +4

I think every specially marked drink will be redeemable. It's not like 1 in 6 gives you eligible points.

      • -3

But how many are specially marked? If every bottle is eligible that's a lot of T-shirts. Or is it first come first served? It's not clear to me.

        • +3

I think specially marked means the ones that say they are part of the promotion. Cos I am assuming the older stock would not have these promo codes, hence not marked at all.

    • You may neg me but I still have my doubts. Note that I did not neg the deal because I want more information first.

AFAICT it works this way: You cannot see the code until you have emptied the bottle or ripped off the label. Therefore you have to buy the product first.

You then enter the code into the website and it tells you if it's eligible. So you only have a chance, not a certainty of getting an eligible code. If you don't get an eligible code you have to buy more and try again.

It seems to me that if they were to give out one T-shirt for every 10 bottles, they'd lose money. That's why I have my doubts.

If you can assure me that it really is that good, I'll be happy to pos this freebie. I'm just a skeptical shopper.

Edit: Ok I see that there are 50,000 T-shirts to redeem, so it is possible that there are 500,000 bottles or equivalent out there. Well I suppose whether it's a good deal depends on whether the products cost more than when they are on special. If you have to pay $1.49 for the 1.25l bottle when it can be 99c on special, they you are paying a premium of 50c per bottle and your T-shirt is $5. Which is not bad I suppose.

      • +3

        Just to confirm:

EVERY bottle with a promotional label on it will have a VALID code inside it. This is not a "game of chance".

I hate it when these promotions are on and the product is priced at a premium. I just got home from Coles Reservoir VIC 3073 (where I bought 10 x 1.25L pepsi max for $10).

I could not see any other promotional labelled Pepsico bottles, but I imagine they will eventually be Sunkist, Passiona, Schweppes, Solo, Mountain Dew (in line with the T Shirts)

And remember, there are 50000 T Shirts - that is quite a few!!

        Good luck!!

        • +1

Ok, fair enough, thanks for the explanation. If I see eligible $1 Pepsi Max bottles I'll grab 10.

        • +2

I can't believe someone has now negged greenpossum for saying thanks! WTF???

        • even'ed out

        • Yea I gave greenpossum a +1 you get him out of negative. Don't think he deserves the negative, he's just being more cautious about the promotion. We don't want to be disappointed right?

      • +1

and greenpossum - I don't have a problem with you wanting more information, and being cynical until then. That's what's great about this forum, and whirlpool, and others like this !!

I hope we have addressed your concerns :)

Wow, you may not be smart enough for this site, maybe you should just stick to watching foxtel. You are making us look bad. Or of course, maybe you have been living in the bush for the last 20 years, in which case, welcome to the real world.

        • +1

          Foxtel? What's that? :P

PS: I'd rather be skeptical than naïve. And only you can make yourself look bad. E.g. by making unsubstantiated assumptions.

        • +2

WTF was that little rant all about cakesy??? :o

        • +1

Have a look at all his other comments in his profile.
Every one of them negative or smart-assed.
The guy is a borderline troll IMHO.

  • +3

+ve for this line: "nothing for those woosey 250mL tightarse cans"

    • uh… why?
firstly pepsi doesn't come in the 250mL cans, and second of all they're hardly tightarse, the cost of those cans (well, the coca cola 250mL ones) is far higher per litre than regular cans/bottles

  • +2

I really like the Passiona one. I don't even really like Pepsi, but might just buy ten bottles that'll get drunk over Christmas anyway.

    • +1

My bottles of Pepsi always love getting onto the Tia Maria at Christmas time.

  • +1

I rekon that the sunkist is the "coolest" looking but i have to agree with 'shmahoo', the solo t-shirt is just
    "something special…."

  • +3

1.25l Pepsi is a buck at Coles until Wednesday.

  • +2

    but it's pepsi…

  • Wow I attended the paid market research thing for pepsi a year back, and this and the Top Gear promo they had a while back were there. And this promo option in particular got negative views from everyone in the room, and it was "get a free shirt with every 3x600ml pepsi drinks".
How did they get a go ahead with 10x1.25L?!

    • other groups may have said otherwise. Test groups can give different results.

    • It's simple. 600ml drinks are terrible value, and people only buy them for convenience. 1.25l bottles are good value any time. the 600ml deal is a free t-shirt with expensive drinks, and the 1.25 a free t-shirt with reasonable drinks.

    • I can't believe that 3 x 600mL for free T Shirt wasn't given the thumbs up by your focus group!

  • It is for packs, not single bottles.

Each pack earns you these points:
    600ml = 2 points
    1.25L = 1 point
    2L = 1 point
    24 x 375ml cans = 4 points

    And again

    1. Where do I find my unique codes?

Your unique code can be found on the reverse of specially marked Summer Rewind packs. It's a 12 digit long code that's unique to each label/pack. Please note it is not the EAN/barcode.

won't you gentlemen have a pepsi?

I love that Solo Man T-shirt.
It reminds me of being a kid watching TV. I love the Solo Man, I like the mo, the whole knob/wanker outdoor guy hero thing. It reminds me of G.I. Joe ads too for some reason..(now with Kung-Fu grip!)
Easily my favorite though was Paul Hogan's Leo Wanker, pisstake of the Solo man. Ahhh the 70's…. nostalgia…

    Go the Solo Man!

    • Hell yeah, Hoges was a visionary! Leo Wanker was awesome (directly copied by the D-Gen guys Shitscared IMHO), so was Sgt Arthur Donger, Nigel Lovelace & who could forget Hoges' Phantom - comedy gold! :)

      • +1

        Ah, Hoges
Just when I got over laughing at the Leo Wanker sketch would end every time by pouring a Solo all over his face.
Yeah Shitscared was definitely ripped straight from Hoges, no doubt.

brb looking inside bins and the curb for specially marked Summer Rewind 600mL Pepsi bottles

  • nice i will buy 10 bottles sometime next week for $10 (just bought a 24can pack of coke for $11.50 at big W today lol) and claim a pepsi shirt. i like pepsi shirt, vintage style which looks cool. the others ones are a bit plain advertising the drink lol..

  • For what it's worth, the 7-Up theme for Windows 7 is pretty damn cool too. Been using it since W7 was launched.

    • where did u get teh 7-up theme?

  • I remember in primary school, there was a similar promotion with Coke where you get a backpack. So one of the kids would scavage the bins for labels haha

  • -3

wait so i can go to woolies and just start ripping off labels? Noice

    • uh not really
"Entrants must retain the original specially marked label/packaging containing the unique codes used for all entries submitted. Receipts must show that purchases were made during the Promotion Period . If not, all entries by the entrant may be declared invalid by the Promoter. Failure to provide these to the Promoter upon request may result in an invalid entry (and, at the Promoter’s discretion, in all of the entrant’s entries being invalid)."

  • So, I went to my local Coles today, basket in hand, to pick up ten bottles of specially marked Pepsi for $1 each, aaaaand… There were no specially marked bottles. None of Pepsi, Pepsi Max, Sunkist, Solo, or Mountain Dew. Was a little peeved.

    • same, and same. >:[

    Thanks shamahoo for posting this.

Was going to buy a couple of boxes of Pepsi Max anyway. As long as I have been buying Pepsi Max in boxes, they have never been able to create/scan a label for a box. In Coles, you show them a bottle and they scan it once and click 12 in quantity but in Woolworths the majority of the time, they scan it individually. Crazy.

Anyway, put in my codes and ordered a t-shirt (Pepsi one to be loyal) and it said it should be delivered before Dec 27. I like that they give all the dimensions of the t-shirt. I guess the chest is the important number, so measured one of my fave t-shirts at home and used that number for the sizing.

  • DO WANT MOUNTAIN DEW

  • +1

    No XXL :(

Come on Pepsi, think it through, you want me to drink enough soft drink to get a Tshirt, but you're not going to accommodate my corpulent frame?

  • I like Pepsi cola, including its T-shirt

  • I have not seen a single bottle advertising this promotion. :(

  • +1

Got both shirts I applied for on Wednesday (1/12) a full 26 days before the estimated time. Got to say that it's a quality T-shirt which is very soft.

So far got the Solo and the Pepsi shirt. Have another 36 labels to submit ;)

P.S. Woolworths has Pepsi Max for $1 this week.

    • I can report that I received my Solo shirt yesterday (the "camp" one), and the shirt is a good quality cotton/polyester one. And the design works. I'm male and I wore it last night to a club and picked up three blokes. Pity that I'm not gay

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

      • +1

Haha, very nice. Pity you are not a girl, I might have picked you up. :)

Thanks for the tip about the Pepsi Max in Woolies, Neil. I shall visit soon.

No, I don't overdose on Pepsi, contrary to some rumours. :) Soft drink bottles and cans are stashable so I buy low and drain stock when prices are high.

        • +3

Well I AM a Pepsi Max addict, and when I regularly found myself going through 1.25L a day, I decided to give myself a rest from it.

Today is my 9th day in a row without any soft drink, and it's been bloody hard, especially when I received my pepsi and solo T-Shirts in the mail this week, I felt like pepsi was sticking its finger up at me !!

        • Shmahoo, I too was a Pepsi Max addict, drinking 1.25 litres a day, minimum for more than 10 years probably. One day I got sick and when I had recovered a few days later, I poured myself a Pepsi Max. I couldn't stand the taste of it. I tried again a week later and I still couldn't stand the taste of it.

To this day, at least five years later, I haven't let Pepsi Max cross my lips as I have no desire at all for it. I don't know what happened in my brain, but if I could bottle it I would be mighty rich.

  • +1

My experience is that at Woolies and similar at Coles, you will find that one week Pepsi is on special and the other week Coca Cola. If you alternate supermarkets or buy enough to sustain for two weeks, the bargain is always there no matter which brand you prefer. If you are on a real tight budget, buy the 2 ltr bottles and check the supermarket tag for '$1.00 per litre'. Then pour them into the empty 600 ml buddies. Saves a fortune if you require the caffeine kick during the day at work or uni.
Don't necessarily buy the pepsi bottles now to top up tia maria this christmas hoping to collect points for t-shirts but check out other cola prices because those 50,000 t-shirts have all run out…. The deal as advertised on the labels is ongoing till 28 February 2011 (so another two months) but as all t-shirts have run out, ignore it and for those of us who scored a t-shirt - lucky you!!! Merry Xmas

  • I think it's Woolies that has the $1 Pepsi bottles this week. Also Schweppes varieties, e.g. Agrum. As Klompie said, ignore the ads, no more T-shirts.

  • +2

50k+ T's have been added & the promo is extened till April. hth

  • I bought 10 bottles and it rejected 5 of the codes as being "not valid for this promotion" which was annoying :)

It isnt only the packs as I read here, its any bottles OR the packs which have more points on them. They have a Summer Rewind label.

They are making 54 000 more t-shirts due to demand apparently and you have until April I think, left in the promo.

When I was there yesterday they had thousands of shirts left!

I did buy 5 more bottles over Christmas (needed them for Christmas lunch anyway) and now have my 10 points but now the website wont let me in! Did anyone else have this problem?
